Bonnet Hood Release Lock Set Auto Set Assembled Repair Kit Latch +2 Keys for Ford Focus MK2 2004-2012 1343577 25.5cm/10.04in . The Replacement stalk I used came with two new keys, if you want to retain the ability to use your original ignition key you have to but the proper Ford replacement part which is more expensive.
After 14 years my trusty Ford Focus bonnet wouldn't open , the key tuned uselessly in the bonnet/hood lock. The wire in the stalk connecting the key unit to the the actual bonnet/hood release had corroded and broken. That's a well known problem. I looked at a dozen videos here on RU-vid and decided on the 'remove the grill' method. If I had to do it again I reckon I could do it in 30 minutes.
The Hood/Bonnet Lock problem is notorious for Mondeos & Focuses sometimes it is the lock which jams with grime or it is the wire in the stalk which breaks. Which ever which way Ford has now abandoned the Key Opening Bonnet/Hood lock system and gone back to the traditional inner & outer lever system.
