The Old One's Army has a variety of countermeasures in place to prevent cheesing the event. Things like preventing the event from starting if the terrain isn't even, the inability to place blocks after the event has started, and even allowing the OOA enemies to phase through blocks. However, as of 1.4.4 there's a super cool way to bypass all of these and all it takes is a couple of platforms!
With the help of a hoik, the block swap mechanic, and a platform, you can completely halt all but the flying enemies of this event!
