I got fired from a job I was at for 4 years. I think the reason why I got fired was because I said I didn't trust my manager anymore. My work was perfect. I just didn't like how I was treated. I was angry every day. I spoke up about things that concerned me and I think they took as me trying to cause trouble. When my manager said they were letting me go my first emotion was relief. I got in my car and took a trip faraway. 8 days later I found a job that is only 5 minutes away. It doesn't pay as much but believe me there is nothing worse than going to a job that you hate. It is like being in a bad relationship. You have to get out. Losing a job hurts really bad. It's more than just losing income. It's a huge loss. You lose your work friends, routine but you find a new job and things work out for the good. My stress is gone and I feel rested. They did me a favor. My head is held high. I think the key is finding a job right away even if it pays low because you have to have some cash flow and then you can find something better. Being fired happens to good people all the time. I was fired for really no reason.

I've just got laid off yesterday in Germany from a paid internship to a very big company. The official reason is that I didn't perform well even tho I did all the tasks assigned but no one every bothered to give me any feedback. The REAL reason is that I don't speak German *and they knew it beforehand* and ASSURED me that it wasn't a big issue. I really feel betrayed and I really hope karma exists.

Hi Lauren. Just wanted to share my experience: last year I was an intern in a start-up located in Paris. It was my first internship and although I was excited at first, I realized a few weeks later that I wasn't enjoying the work, the culture and the environment. I made several mistakes that got me fired. It was a tough situation since I was sleeping in the workplace (the team worked and lived in the same apartment). I had to find a new opportunity AND another accommodation. I was miserable and mad at myself. Also, the CEO tried to make me pay more rent money that I was supposed to, so it only made things worse. Thankfully the fear of being homeless and jobless made me productive: before I had to leave the apartment, I sent hundreds of applications, got several interviews and managed to get a new internship and a place to stay. That second internship was so much better than the first one: the team was really nice and professional, they were patient with me and I developed valuable skills. I still work with them as a freelancer, and I'm more confident in my abilities. I was watching videos during these tough times: videos about people getting fired, feeling grateful for being fired and moving on. It motivated me to move forward as well. One of these videos was I think the one I'm commenting on (How to Overcome Getting Fired!). Just wanted you to know. To everyone who got fired: it can definitely be a good thing. I wasn't happy with my first internship, but the second one was such a great experience! Also, on an ironic note: my first employer (the crooked CEO I mentioned) told me that I wasn't fitted to work in a start-up environment. I proved him wrong by getting a second internship... in another start-up (and receiving a good review from its founder). Also, I'd like to tell you this: if you got fired and find yourself in a tough situation... then fight. Make a deal with yourself: send 20, 30, 50, 100 applications a day, do whatever you can think of to create massive results. Don't wait for an opportunity, just kick every door you can find until someone says "yes". Don't think about external factors and success probabilities: just push beyond every obstacle until something, anything, happens. And make every necessary sacrifice count, as long as it doesn't put your life and your mental state at risk. Good luck.

I think I’m getting fired tomorrow. My boss told me yesterday don’t work Sunday & Monday & go to his office Monday. He won’t tell me why. HR need to talk to me. Wtf just say it I’m fired. He’s so under the table ugh!!

If they will fire you they will fire you. Sometimes it is the universe telling you you don't belong there. I started my own business after being unjustly fired. There is no silver bullet against being fired.

😢Ty So much for this video i really needed to hear this. Im actually experiencing this now and its been rough especially going through this during the holidays 😔 I have really been going through the motions each day its getting harder and harder and this video gives me encouragement .

You mentioned something very interesting in your video that I would love it if you could clarify. You mention that you started to look for a new job where you felt that you would be more valued as an employee. What should I be looking for in a company when job hunting to know if my potential employer would value me as an employee?

I just recently got fired from a job - the first time it ever happened. The first signs of this was this past weekend when HR sent the next weeks rota, and I wasn't on it. So I sent HR an email as to why this happened, and they didn't get back to me. So I finished the Sunday shift, still awaiting their response; I even spoke to my supervisor, and he thought that maybe I was working at another site, and then they confirmed that I'm not placed there either. So I was at home, waiting for their response, until they called me and told me that after an unsuccessful probation period, they informed me that they was letting me go. Apparantly, I wasn't up to their standards of their employees. Two thoughts crossed my mind when I got this news - the first thought that crossed my mind was, it sucked because yes, I agree I was slow to get started in the job, because it was a whole new type of retail that I'm not used to, however I gave it my best shot with the tools that I had, and I felt that I had gradually improved along the way. Also, because now I have no job, meaning I got no income, and now that I have been fired, I can't even file for unemployment, as there is a rule in my country that you can only apply for unemployment benefits, if you lost your job in circumstances beyond your control (i.e. if you were made redundant, or if you left due to a temporary contract expiring). The second thought was, I'm kinda glad, because the job wasn't a fit for me, the location I was originally sited at was crazy, the pay system they applied there was ridiculous, and the expectations for the job was even more. I see this as another life lesson because I know that there were things that I could've done to better acclimate myself to the job, and I guess I just have to suck it up, and rally up for next time....

I got a one week warning to improve but I know its fake. They are just buying time to train my replacement. I documented everything. Because I dont want my chances at unemployment insurance rejected. Im assuming counseling me is on record so tge "fired through no fault of your own" thing gets me denied. But i made double the sales goals. The jyst dont like me. I know the week warning is just to make their paper trail.

Hi Lauren, Last year in January I was fired from my previous employer where I worked in an office environment. I've been out of work for over a year now and can't find any employer to bring me on board because I've been out of work so long. I have been job hunting every day but the longer I'm out the worse things are getting. I'm currently working in retail just to get by but it's only minimum wage plus commission and it's only part time. I have lost all my self confidence and I have a wife and 2 young children I'm trying to raise. Do you have any suggestions? I'm just at a loss. G

Hi I am hoping my question can be answered. I am being let go because I was dishonest… I am regretful and sorry about my mistake. How do I convey this in a future job interview? It is something that I have learned from and will never ever do again, but now I am terrified that I won’t ever get hired again. Any advice is welcome

(1st time being fired)Got fired today from dollar general...I'm really down. Lasted for 4 days on being a cashier...I lost $40 and had to much money in my register...and I'm to shy and need confidence to talk to people..I need to open up apparently..and it was during Christmas so it was very busy...and my boss has very high expectations...doing 5 things while doing something else....I'm on my 2 weeks of soaking...😭

Nepotism is what I just faced recently! A spoiled privileged 22 year old girl couldn’t find a job only because she her fiancé his uncle is the boss but it’s not a family ran business. I felt like I wasn’t valued and I felt like I was on eggshells. They used to get off work at 6:30 before me I had them getting off at 5:30 and I never called out with toothaches and getting my car fixed. Also the young lady started nodding around our manger! That’s been there for 22 years she’s allowing this and acts so in love with her. I was asked personal questions and it was harassment. She cussed at me and everything! I don’t want to work there ever again. Worst job ever it only lasted a month .😂🤣😭 I didn’t get fired but it was coming and this girl also stalked me at the gas station but let me mention that and they asked me to leave for the day. This girl is violent and I can’t wait till karma serves her she doesn’t belong in the professional world. She told the manager to turn around and gave another co worker the middle finger!!!! I’m happy for be gone but I’m sad that I wasted a month there! During the COVID it’s hard to find a good job and I was at a very good company but if they want things ran by a bratty spoiled teenager that’s getting married at 22 god help us! I told her lower your voice and there’s people here with Degrees and she was like no there isn’t!!!! She screamed that! She’s lucky I was only trying to talk to her because other people said they’d be walking out in handcuffs. She would have gotten some hands especially with the gas station day.
