I really enjoyed your commentary. Excellent ideals.. I have gone on solos trips, too.. I, too, always have someone telling me it's too dangerous, etc. My best friend and I travel to Asia by ourselves in 2018 China, Thailand, Singapore, crusing out of Singapore to Vietnam, Kong Kong, Twain! We booked our entire trip by ourselves, no travel agent help, so you can imagine everyone thinking we had lost our mind!! But we enjoyed the experience and the power of black girls' power😊.. Keep up the good work, giving fantastic advice about your journeys....
To slowly get used to traveling alone, I went to Napa which is not too far but it was the first getaway by myself. I still enjoyed it. Since I’m just a naturally anxious person, I try to plan for every “what if” scenario.
As a long time solo traveler I think the trade offs are rewarding in many ways. In my travels I have crossed paths with numerous solo women travelers who were creating their own path and experience with the world and who were an inspiration and it was an honor to chat for a few minutes or sit together for a meal before continuing our solo efforts. As a solo traveler you have complete flexibility and will certainly grow. And your research and project management skills will develop an edge!
