The power of good quality paint. A single roller fill of it actually covered the entire wall without any dark spots and the need of refilling the roller. Where I come from, the paint sold here (any brand) is so damn thin that you need to go for about 5 coats or more.
@@patrickkelly8512 well, my bad. I did not phrase my comment correctly. I tried to say that with a single coat he managed to basically cover the entire wall. Obviously a 2nd hand will finish the job. I also didn't give the context that I live in a country in which paint quality is very bad and no matter the brand, it will never coat as good as the one in the video did.
Aura from Benjamin more paint... is one of the good ones that doesn't need 2 coats .. but 30 seconds to cut all those outlets base mounding windows and corners .. he probably took 30 minutes or more to do this wall, base on the wide of the cutting
@@Bluedhalias tape slows you down! Take your time and get good at cutting in and it's doesn't take that long. Not a bad idea to put some on your base boards to stop drips but I don't recommend taping up to the wall. Another reason is paint bleeds through easy
Well actually he really should've went back and got more paint on the roller about half way through that wall. So id say he is just making his job harder than it has to be
Everyone spontaneously inspired to paint a room realizes,3 hours in, that you are still cutting in the edges and just may have made an irrational decision. Lol
What he did was he dunked the roller in the paint and didn’t ring it out on the bumpy part of the tray (I don’t know the terms😂) so it would be covered in a lot of paint. Then he spread it on the wall and then went back over it, so even if the roller was running out of paint there was still the extra he had on the wall. Then all ya do is apply a good amount of pressure and you get a nice even paint coat. Hope that cleared up some stuff😋
@@solventabuser77 Unless its with an actual stopwatch, or a digital timer, counting isn’t exactly the most accurate thing, you could count too slow, or too fast, only way to truly know if it was thirty seconds is a digital timer of some sort
Yeah, cleaning the walls takes more time than actually painting them. Also covering all the stuff you’ve moved to the center of the room can take some time too.
@@SullivanFamilyChaos Are you that confident with every uninformed assumption you give? He quite literally manually rolled. It's not mechanical you imbeciIe.
Right. lol Still impressive to get the main part done that fast, but this is def the easiest, quickest part. Also, I'd imagine two coats when on to stop cover any light spots, but I could be wrong.

The larger roller is wonderful..keeps the overlap marks to a minimum and lays down superior, especially on ceilings. I never go that fast. No really need to spray yourself with splatter!
@@zaymilo2761 yeah he already cut in on the edges and the outlet. But are you really going to say nothing of the fact that he painted an entire 25-30 foot wall without returning to the paint pan ONCE?! Come on.
@@slickrick364 Lol, incorrect. I didn’t know what I was doing when I first started drawing and now I’m good. Just because you have the ability to speak, doesn’t mean you should, Rick.
Once all the cutting in is done, walls are fast and once all the tape is quickly put on the woodwork the painting fast too. I am a painter of quite a few years. Painting is a blast and the finished project looks great. There’s nothing like fresh clean paint and Voc free.
I've been painting for 70 years, since I was 3. This technique works well on new builds and other people's houses.... If it my own house. I use a 1 inch roller so it takes longer so I don't have to play with the kids.
@@BrainScramblies There is no "wringing" it out all that it does is make the paint even around the roller so u don't drip everywhere, it slightly loses some paint but most of it stays on the tray for the next time you are "wringing" it out generally u get the roller soaked, do one section the width of the roller top to bottom, then get it soaked again, this man is going to have to do this another 4 times unless the contractor hes working for likes thirsty walls then all is good other than the lines left from uneven paint
How to paint a wall in 30 seconds... After you've painted the top, bottom, left and right, and around the electrical sockets, light switches and windows
When you were born after probably 9 months is that when your parents made you? You moron. Always looking for the smallest things to put down people. Get a grip
As an electrician, thank you for not just rolling over outlet boxes with some masking tape over the outlet. Destroys new receptacles faster than half the painters care to realize
@@stephenfresh1754 paint on terminal screws or inside the outlet is just plain bad for outlets and devices. What’s worse are the painters that paint over boxes and cover wires in paint. It’s just lazy and bad practice. Common sense honestly.
Everyone who pressed like for the video either you are a painting expert or that painting the wall temporarily fills a void in your apartment, which makes you feel good and makes you tab like. 🤓
Not really, when it’s dry you’ll see nothin. Plus that’s only the first coat. It’ll need another one definitely. You can throw the first coat on like that providing your not leaving track marks in the paint and you’re laying it off properly.
@@beasthunter7480 the wall is already painted so needs no primer. He’s using a high opacity paint, a good trade roller and has a solid technique. One more coat will do it.
i have OCD and very controlling in my home. i have to renovate my whole living room (big room). i have uneven walls, so first before i can paint i have to even the walls ☹️ the materials are in my home since weeks, but my panik doesnt allow me to begin with the caos 😂 i know, stupid and first world problems. but i can‘t change that
That are good painting technique. I’ve been doing that for 25 years now. Props for strokin the 18 incher! That doesn’t sound right, (Good for him being able to use the big sleeve!) A uniform final layoff would finish it nicely 😎
That’s after he spent a couple of hours emptying the room, putting down all the drop cloths, removing plate covers, getting everything else ready and cutting in all the edges! Lol
When you roll paint it tends to fling very small particles all over. He is only covering the floor for the first 3 feet, the rest of it is going to be absolutely covered in speckles
Why does the sound of the roller rolling against the wall sound so satisfying, calming and relaxing while laying comfortable in bed with your eyes closed? Some may say because you're not the one doing the work or because....
I'm a painter all my family is painters. Quick at the coverage but in person there is holidays and lines all through what he just painted. Will most definitely need three coats the way they are painting
He didn't say it's done, just that it's 30 seconds. Now if it needs 2-3 coats, that's still minute and a half of actual painting. He can just keep going around the house like this and come back and start new coat and repeat. Overall still fast I'd say
If the ceiling is going to be painted with the same paint then you can jam into the wall, and won't have to cut it in. We've done it that way to save time, but if its a T and M job then take your time! Many years ago paint was pretty cheap, but not anymore!😅
@@Dibbs. that too. I mean if that's all you have then it works , when done properly . But a sprayer is always better. Even if it's just a little $100 sprayer.
@@Dibbs. One time my friend and I were working for a small local painting company, and we had to paint the living and kitchen area of an apartment. It was just my friend and I there, and we got the job done, but we had some fun doing it. The next day the boss called us into the living room and had us stand at an angle to the living room wall then opened the blinds, and we could totally see the giant 420 that we painted on the wall first, under the the coat of paint. Lol
That’s a good way of getting paint droplets everywhere It’s fine to do as the white paint because you have lots of paper, but you’d be surprised how many tiny droplets make it halfway across the room when you roll that roller that fast
I painted my walls and rushed the one opposing my window, all my walls were white so they weren’t messed up but my window was covered in little drops It’s not even a small room either, them shits went flying A razor blade made it easy enough to clean but still; damn
I agree with the comments that how to paint a wall in 30sec is correct for the demonstration. No place where it says a prefect paint job and also doesn't say a cheaper price!
@@karinagomez4583Because of his skill to paint so fast and efficiently. Go ahead and try it for yourself. That's when you see why sometimes it's best to just pay someone else to do the job.
Exactly. How long did it take him to paint the edges and tape up the outlet? Prep work probably took at least another 30 min no matter how good he is, if not more.
@@JOHN.hennry taping outlet? Why the fuck would you tape the outlet? You use a paintbrush to outline the outlet, Half a minute on each outlet and if you are a little careful around them when painting it, No need to tape it. Im a housepainter, and I only ever taped an outlet when I was an apprentice. I would much rather be concerned about the lack of paint being put on the walls.
@@jooly_garxia complete resurrection of the wall, yeah?! Drywall patching, picture mounts and fine cracks...earthquake repairs...and just the general cleaning required for paint to stick in that old, dirty wall. People expect magic from a can of latex 😂.
@@jooly_garxia yeah but its not like its super hard work, it can be tricky or if yer on a ladder and high up it can be dangerous and require some finess and stress yer back a bit but its not like back breaking tradesmen style work 😅 drywalling for example is way harder then painting lmao
I had watched a video about this technique. One painter is extremely famous for this. The thickness of the sponge on the roller is about half an inch and the Z pattern drawn is to spread the paint evenly prior. This allows for minimal splashing on the ceiling and floor. This also gives the same amount of paint throughout
Man already edged everything and doesn't have to worry about contaminating anything cause it's already white paint. I wish my painting jobs were like this
We own a painting business. I’m pretty sure the walls are EXTREMELY textured because of his paint application; there’s probably also a ton of splatter on him, the floors,EVERYWHERE… I showed my husband this and he just shook his head and said “newbie”
After painting one room, I learned that this wasn’t one of the best ideas of getting the job done well. This dude is just using primer to be a show off…. Good idea, if you don’t care to eat paint… I guess.
The king of dryrolling. Don't paint like this lol... Not even in cheap garbage rentals. Do it right, speed comes from experience. That wall could have been properly rolled with two more dips and two more minutes of proper rolling.
@@76ahead i thought most liquids were self leveling, but that only happens with thin viscose paint on a flat surface. As for walls, wouldn't that be self plumbing paint? I have heard of things like 'self leveling concrete' too. But what that actually is is adulterated concrete that's very weak, dangerous and done to cut corners. In the industry that's known as 'taking the piss'.🙃
He already painted above the window, the part where the wall and floor (and ceiling!) meet and around the electrical socket in advance. Those are the parts that take the most time.
I paint using this exact method every single day for a living. Its all about soaking the roller and maintaining a steady rhythm. The most important thing is definitely the roller. Don't be afraid to spend the extra few dollars on a good-quality roller. An 18" Purdy white dove roller with 3/8 nap is what I use everyday.
@@Claptrap_ prepping and cleaning the wall, filling up cracks or smoothening damaged areas and finishing up the edges so you can paint without any obstructions
@@mayas87 yeah but he has to do extra coats because he’s using little primer on the wall the less he dips the roller the more coats. And if does this with the PAINT it’s going to be a lot of coats as well
Step one: spend 2 hours covering the floor and skirting boards, cutting in all the edges and fittings. Step 2: paint wall in 30seconds. Step 3: re-paint ceiling to fix roller splatter. Make sure to use same method as steps 1 and 2 Step 4: repeat
Not to mention RE-CUTTING and RE-ROLLING that same wall as you can even see the already painted cuts look a very dull brownish white and that’s obviously the white they intend to give the walls
@@mr.thrasher5734 when the paint dries it will be patchy as f. You can actually hear how dry the roller is in places as well. Not to mention all the pain splatter that will be covering the ceiling, floor and anything else in the room. Try painting your room as done here and wait till the paint dries. There's people with over 40 years experience as painters and decorators saying the same thing. Never mind people like me with over 20 years experience
Why real painters don't do this is because the patches will be everywhere and the paint he applied won't be consistent due to how dry it is which you can hear. If you go up and down making sure the streaks are perfect and not too thin you will see the patches easier. This method he'll be needing another three coats of paint as well as looking around for all the patch work.
Lol I remember in high school I joined a "crew" that paid me 6 dollars a wall. The edge guy made 10 dollars a wall. I never complained. Did 3 houses a day. Edges were already done by the time I got there, setup was 10 minutes, banged 11 walls out in like an hour and clean up was like 20 minutes. Drove to the next one.
