@@gp1003 pretty much covered them all, and docking. Normal, rough water, glassy water, crosswind, TOs and landings. Partial power TO, engine out landing, spot landing, confined space TO. Oh, and step taxi.
My kind of instructor, clear, concise and stating everything they're doing. That's respecting your time, money and intelligence. Thanks Check List: Liked Subscribed Want to fly with you.
I watched your video several times Will conducting two days of float training. Had my check ride Wednesday and it was fun and easy. Thanks for your video. It was helpful for me to review my day’s training each evening, when I had time to think and process everything. We’ll done, Thanks!
Haven't flown seaplanes since my checkride so I'm doing a refresher later today as a flight review. This is an excellent video and helped me knock the rust off my knowledge. Many thanks!
It's nice to be able to have a comprehensive overview of the seaplane rating maneuvers, thanks for the video ;) The most difficult part (as a non seaplane pilot) seems to be calculating the landing distance and being able to stop on time lol
One thing you should always do during a glassy water take off is after breaking the water, constantly scan your VSI and Altimeter almost like an IFR departure and be sure that you maintain a positive rate of climb. You do not want to bring your flap up and settle back on to the water.
My ASES checkride was mostly landings and a focus on landing at precise locations rather than just floating down the lake forever to make smooth landings. The closest to a maneuver was emergency engine out which are interesting to land at step attitude and not slam it on at the same time. Definitely read up on beyond the airwork so you're fully prepared for the oral exam about seaplane operations in general beyond the specific airplane you're flying This is a great rating to add to your certificate when you're approaching a flight review, knock out your ASES defer for another 24 calendar months! Most importantly, it's fun as heck.
Didn't see a step turn, or any docking procedures. And confined landings you are seeing how close to shore you can stop.you didn't even set up over shore, pretty incomplete instruction. Not Impressed!
I didn’t do a step turn? Oh I’ll have to add some stuff then. Yeah I just didn’t have a good dock available to show that…. And I know docking is one of the hardest parts
