How to place the roof in Service Mode - BMW Z4 E89

Unfortunately, the only time you need to put the roof into service position is when there is a sensor fault or broken wire, And in this case, the procedure you displayed is not capable of working. You need to use ISTA or Bimmergeeks Protool to override the fault and open the boot. Or, go under the glove box and do the pin 12 trick to open the boot. This will give you access to the hydraulics to release pressure to manually move the roof sections into service mode.

Interesting stuff, always love learning g from you what I can/can't do with my 2016 e89. Keep up the great videos!

Im really interested in a digital cluster for the E89, but i don't know if it's worth it.. because it's really expensive, i dont know if you can be able to reset the Service or check the Oil level and i don't know if you can use it with the Aftermarket Androidscreen together (i mean something like displaying the music information that i played with the Androidscreen on the digital cluster. Do you have any expierience with a Digital Cluster for the Z4 or any recommendations or tipps for that? Thanks a lot! and have nice Week.

Hi dave. I had watched this video then came across your narrative on one of the Z4 forums on replacing hydraulic system....i have had one hose shear on the rear right hose from the motor to the ram...no one (not even bmw) can tell me if you can just replace that one part....or is it sealed onto the ram... As you can buy it seperatly I imagine it isn't... But of you replaced all your hoses in yours where they all seperate and replaceable? Any advice would be great... I cant do it myself but my mechanic might if its relatively straightforward for a mechanic.. Cheers paul

Help Please, unlike all the examples share, mine is stuck in the retracted open position. I put the reader on it, and was able to find a bad switch, however I cannot access it without moving it. Apparently there is tool you can buy to unlock some latch, that I cannot see. Got the tool and unless I am hodini have not idea based on the instructions.. Any help, links, advise will be appreciated..

Hello, how do you open the roof with three touches of the remote control?

Hi any idea of how to open roof in service mode when red light is flashing and windows stuck down and not operational need to raise it to check sensors cant get it to move. Trunk still opens however.
