How to play better golf (14-28 handicap) Here's a 3 hour GOLF video by Jimmy Tropicana tropicanagolfshop.com/product... Jimmy's new TROP KING SNAPBACK HAT : tropicanagolfshop.com/product...
Yup. 1 of the golfers at my course said, "this game is easy, 3 shots down the middle, putt for par." I've slowed my swing down, hitting every club in my bag now, and it works.
I've been playing golf for 50 years at a high level single-digit handicap for over 40 years but I can't stop watching these videos they are outstanding great advice for anybody
Hi Jimmy, love the fact that you do not edit the videos. Played the first 9 holes May 1, in league play, shot a 45 using your techniques, got rid of the 60 year olds from the hot tub, replaced with 30 and 40 year olds, made only 1 and 2 puts, best ever. Thank you for your help, Ron Pagliaro , not easy at 76 years old.
Jimmy, I don’t normally comment on videos, but I have to say that of all the 100s of golf videos and golf RU-vidrs I’ve watched…you’re the best. The way you make the repeatable golf swing so easy is amazing. You have helped my golf game a ton and I will be passing your lessons on to friends. My golf balls now jump straight off the face of my clubs and I don’t even have to swing out of my shoes. Keep doing what you’re doing! Great to see this stuff coming out from a regular golfer
After watching your videos my game has improved !! My score has improved every time and putting is no longer a problem or stressful 😂 I’m always invited to the tropicana hot tub 😂🤣
For me the best part of this video is your acceptance of the poor driver shot. You kept your poise:(22:30) "This is golf, and you must continue..." I'm telling myself those exact words from now on. Thank you so much for making this crazy game so real for us.
Solid advice! One thing I rarely see mentioned is playing from the right tees. If you are a 18+ handicap, you probably shouldn’t be playing from the blue tees!
I agree kinda. You can be 80 years old and still a 5 handicap. Shouldn't play from the back tees. Thanks for watching and for the comment. As a courtesy Tropicana would like to offer you 20% off to support our merch. visit tropicanagolfshop.com/collections/tropicana-merch and use code TROP20
The “grip it and rip it” mentality currently helps me not overthink the shot. Just swing and make good contact. Not maxing out any distance records anytime soon, so ease up and make it centered and solid. These walkthroughs are super helpful in getting in the right frame of mind.
Jimmy, your buddy's humor got me to watching him, dat's it....he has me now watching you. The best thing I can say about your videos is that you make this ol hacker BELIEVE,that i can play this game. Thank you, sir.
Bogeys are, for most of us, your friend. I could always hit the ball a fairly long way. Several pars every round and often a birdie. But still typically shoot in the mid-90’s or sometimes worse - too many doubles and triples, from too many drivers out of bounds, trying to thread hybrids 200+ yards into a green guarded by water, or mindlessly trying to blast a 3-wood off the deck with no real goal in mind. There is some great advice here.
When I was 49 I had cancer of the head and neck. I wasn’t able to eat for 4 months. After treatment they wouldn’t let me take out my feeding tube until I proved I could maintain my current weight. I had lost 40 lbs. with feeding tube in me I played Torrey Pines North. My drives were about 160 yards. I needed a six iron to hit a 120 yard shot. I shot 83 from the middle tees.
Hi Jimmy, gotta say thank you for your videos, First time out after 2 year hiatus due to a wreaked shoulder. Shot for me a respectable 96 on punched greens, No lost balls, only 2- 3 putts and, highest hole was a 7. Your teaching methods work.
I'm a 10 at my home course it's pretty wide open but when I go tighter courses I play like at my home course. Maybe (if you haven't already done it) have an episode about transitioning from home course to unfamiliar course
Im really enjoying your content, ive been subscribed a short while now, some of the analogies are great, the hot tub idea when putting, the wave at the camera man so you dont over swing. The way youre playing these holes is just stress free completely. It inspires confidence, thanks!
Man...just hearing you break it down when explaining why people say they can't hit 3 iron is exactly me.. I swing faster, ball further forward etc etc.. I'm just gonna play this game without the science that I obviously don't know, and hit a ball with a stick.
DUDE! First time post and first watch of any of your content. I've never even heard of you until i was scrolling randomly earlier and stopping because i thought you like looked like some jerseys guy you see from movies. This is fucking amazing! I love the approach you are taking. Almost like a confidence, thought coach take. I think most have heard many times from old timers, about using 7 iron only on par 4s , but dont ever do it. But ithere is something different going on here. You've got a beautiful swing and its obvious you can play. I really enjoyed this. Please dont take this the wrong way and it may not come out how I hope it does. I have this funny thought that pops up at different times in the video that i see a golfing version of Ron Burgundy. I honestly loves this. I cant decide if this a character youve created or not. As I said before, it's obvious you can play. You have a perfect classic swing and finish. I love the style of humor going on. Im sorry if you took any of that wrong. Far from it. If this is a character you have made you need a movie. I'd go to watch. And if its not a character you developed it doesn't matter, it's still great stuff. You are on to something. Thank you. Im going to share this not just to my golfing friends but all of my friends. Take care man.
The older you get you use course management more. I am 71 years old and I treat every hole like a bogey. It takes off the pressure. I always end up with 5-6 pars and the occasional birdie
Its easy to play well when you stay relaxed. You got it right. Thanks for watching and for the comment. As a courtesy Tropicana would like to offer you 20% off to support our merch. visit tropicanagolfshop.com/collections/tropicana-merch and use code TROP20
For this handicap look at par as bogey , take stress off and bogey golf is 90 on par 72 . When u do reach in regulation u have good chance for par and then you can beat 90
Hi Jimmy, I've just watched some of your videos today and I'm inspired! My game has been all over the place the past 12 months, handicap increased by 6 strokes while trying everything under the sun with no success. I'll be practicing with the reduced back swing etc in the next couple of days and looking for some improvement in my club game at the end of the week. One question please....on a scale from 1 to 100%, how hard should we hit the ball? Thanks & regards....
Hi Jimmy. Love the tips and they have been working for me. So, thank you. Question, what do you do, to know you are lined up for the shot you’re hitting.?
I'm old. I like to put my foot up on a bench and very slowly move towards my knee. Switch, do the other side. I do this until I can feel my hip Flexer muscles deciding to cooperate. I also will spread my feet pretty wide and slowly turn the upper body side to side. Don't force it, go slowly. Stay with it just a bit and slowly try to go farther each time. I try to get some stretching at home before I arrive at the course. I will stretch more once I get there, before I hit a few range balls. If you feel loose, you can swing easy like Jimmy stated.
All stiffness comes from hamstrings. Lift your toe off the ground and then bend over to try to touch them. thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
Another great video on one of the most rundown golf courses I have ever seen. I can only imagine how well you could play on a halfway decent maintained course. LOL
My mates think i’ve lost it when I start talking about getting into the hot tub…. My course greens are some of the hardest around , 1 three putt in last two rounds and two low 80’s rounds the first for ages 100% works 👍 I hit a five wood 230 + yards the other day through the green never hit even close to that just slowing it all down and swing.
Dont think about that stuff. Just make sure you swing to a good finish. Everything will take care of itself. thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
I watched a couple of videos yesterday before my round and shot the best round of my life with less is more!! I might not shoot a 78 the rest of summer.
Enjoyed the info. I have no handicap established so I will ask this knowing that slope, average score and other things come in to play but what does a 25 handicapper generally score?
A general rule for calculating handicap is that your handicap number is your average strokes over par. So if you are a 25 handicap, generally that would mean you average 25 shots over par per 18 holes.. The calculation is not exact for the trolls out there but its relatively correct! So if par is 72, 25 Handicap means you average 97 strokes per 18 holes..
Hey Jimmy, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
On any of these golf instruction videos, whenever I hear shit like..."All you need to do is hit an easy 3 iron low and 200 yards." I bail. It seems 90% of RU-vid golf instructors simply can not comprehend that 90% of their potential viewers can't F'n hit an "easy low 3 iron 200 yards". And yet..... here we are again.
Thats because you think hitting a 3i and a pitching wedge is a diff swing. When you realize its not, you’ll start learning to play. thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
That golf course looks ridiculous. Thick, patchy rough. Tiny greens. HARD PASS!! Thanks for the re-assurance though. I'm a 12 handicap and can occasionally have really bad days and really good days. The bad days are typically a loss of feel and too much over-thinking everything. The good days it seems to just flow out of me. Having a plan for each shot helps me. The best rounds I've had are when I'm dragging my sister with me, who doesn't golf, but wants me to explain what I'm doing with every shot. Talking through that visualization seems to really slow me down and play so much better. Wait, you pay for water? I live in Wisconsin, it falls from the sky for free.
Really enjoyed this video. Currently a 26 HC and looking for whatever can help me reduce my scores. Love the easy going approach and common sense of your video. Plus the course looks similar to what I play on… shaggy and not perfectly manicured. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻🏌🏻♂️
