The Rules Girl takes a look at Jurassic Park Danger!
In Jurassic Park Danger!, one player controls the Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park, while the others are hapless humans! Humans must use their movement and special abilities to navigate the jungles, activate locations, attain their personal goals, and ultimately escape Isla Nublar, while avoiding the dangerous dinosaurs!
The goal of the game is to win, and only one team can! The humans win by getting a specific number of characters to the helicopter to escape. The dinosaur player wins by eliminating three characters.

This game seems like a combination of the games, Redacted and Escape from Atlantis with a Jurassic Park theme. It looks interesting.

You’ve got to try it out and read the book too and then you’ll get it. It has a lot of rules but it’s not really as hard as it seems. Def confusing at first.

It is very confusing. I own the game and even with my husband and intelligent kids, the game is very confusing. We’ve tried playing about 5 times.

Honestly that's how I feel about most of The Rules Girl's videos. I don't know why they're so popular. Unfortunately not many videos on this game.

Thank you for this! Looking at the characters, John Hammond is the most useless character. If someone dies when he's in play, he loses his token, thus, he cannot be one of the escaping characters. Either he's death fodder for the dinosaurs, giving them their second kill, or he has to camp at one of the buildings and manipulate the board. Ian Malcolm is a close second to being useless because you have to predict which of your teammates will die. Unless that's John Hammond, his ability is kid of useless as well.

cmndrkool321 Actually for Malcolm you have to roll the die at some point (with like climbing or sneaking) and guess if it’s going to be an even or an odd number. Therefor he is a pretty good character to play. ☺️

cmndrkool321 actually, Hammond is not the worst character. Donald Gennero is. When he gets attacked by a dinosaur, he loses his token and is pretty much dead.

I understand the idea and goal of the game but still confused on how to play 🤔🤣 UPDATE--> Even tho I was confused as ever after watching this video we played the game and after the first 30 min of playing we figured it out ((just hope we were playing right 🤣)) regardless my kids and I had fun so it served its purpose.

THIS IS EXCITING! It looks okay at best, and it isn't exactly my style of game, but nonetheless, you give me the opportunity to play Ray Arnold and say "Hold on to your butts" and that makes me happy. Excellent video!

For a game that I actually cannot get, even if I live in Germany where Ravensburger is located :( Can you please do Ultra-Concise Board Game Rules Explanations for Star Trek: Ascendancy and Runewars the boardgame? As those games are amazing but pain to ass to explain to my non boardgame friends..

Thank you SO much for explaining this game! The instruction manual that comes with the game is cryptic and probably written by someone with ADHD. I can finally play this game with my 12 year old son and my 30 year old nephew (who also didn't understand the game manual) ;)

3:00 To clarify: if you have Run + Run and use one Run on the Velociraptor, can it move 2 more spaces with the bonus action? Or is that a passive effect that doubles the movement? Similarly, if you have a T-Rex run into a space with humans, can he attack on entry and then use his bonus action on two more attacks? Or is it a passive effect that doubles the attack?

They do not stack. The bonus actions replace the movement/attack.

@@kylemoore7746 That is not correct. From the rules: "dinosaur actions... may be used even if a Dinosaur was moved [using a card] during this round.

Have not played yet but I'm guessing you can only move 2 dinos at a time? (Is that right?) and your special action would not count for a dino that has not moved yet? Like attack 2x or run a raptor 2x if it hasn't moved yet that rule is Abit hazy??

I watched this video before reading the instructions and was confused at 1:08. The first time around, I heard "Three Actions" but after learning the ling of the game, it's actually "Free Actions" which is a type of Human Player move.

Okay. Human Sneaks. You succeed on a sneak, then next turn, you reveal - are you allowed to play another card, say RUN?

Question about the rules. so sneak is its own move to just turn sideways and then nexr turn, I put them back up before i do the next cards effect? which in turn gets me attacked if the opponent has a dino on my space,

The Dinosaur player will attack you if they are in the same space when you reveal yourself from a Sneak. Sneaking allows you to hide from the Dinosaurs for one turn and on the following turn you can reveal yourself in ANY adjacent space including going over Cliffs and Fences as long as the Fences are not electrified. After you reveal from a Sneak you can take the action on your next card.

I'm confused about the Humans player turn. The instructions make it seem like you only play one card per round but also lead me to believe you play multiple cards. For instance the instructions read "play optional Free actions. At the end of the round, discard all Cards played." Seems like we should play more than one card but doesn't explain if we are suppose to look at ours cards to only pick a "Free Action". Do you just keep playing all cards in your hand because you would need to play multiple to "discard ALL CARDS played." Any clarification would help. Thanks.

Only play additional cards to boost any roll that doesn't succeed. I only use it if I still have at least 3 cards in my hand (and no T-rex around) or on a suicide mission with my character. Having the additional cards left in your hand will allow you to sacrifice a card to gain back your discards.

Played the game today as both. It was alright. I liked it but didmt love it. i hate being attacked after my sneak but i played before watching this and wasnt sure about it. But thanks for this new experience Jurassic Park style

Use two sneaks in a row or team up with another player so you can work out who gets attacked.

The only thing I'm semi lost on is how many free actions can be played per turn. If its one, that makes sense to me. But its as many as you want, its a pain. My friends pulled a free action loop that basically refilled their hands entirely. We didn't know, so the majority vote was as many as wanted. u.u

Liked the game but a couple of key rules I missed that made it almost impossible to win as the humans. 1 - if you fail a sneak or climb roll you get the card back instead of discard it, 2 - you can sneak into a space with a dinosaur if you’re ok to take the hit on losing a card. Couldn’t find anywhere the answers to if you can mix and match sequence of different human actions or have to complete all actions for each human one after the other, and also does the 2 space velociraptor move mean you can attack players on the space you pass through.

Thanks. My initial impression was that this game was impossible for humans to win. The humans seem so limited whereas the dinosaurs can very quickly cruise over the map.

Your video explained the instructions nicely and I understand how to play but the game is sadly disappointing. The dinosaurs have 2-3 attacks every turn and there are limited human movement cards. With three players the game is so heavily weighted in favor of dinosaurs that humans cannot win. Pointless to play.

Great video! Looking at the rules I don't see anywhere where it says you can't have multiple dinosaurs on the same spot. For distractions the rules specifically say you will be attacked when distracting.

Kids are smart. A lot of modern games have complex rules. If he really likes the theme and you care to learn them to and try to figure them out together you may have a lot of fun. Way more than any kid does today with some silly Snakes & Ladders or other such games. I haven't tried this game in particular, though.

your character dies. Always make sure to have a card available to sacrifice in order to keep your player alive unless you are on a suicide mission to activate a site or distract.

To avoid being attacked, to pass through a cliff or inactive fence, or to use it with a Run card next turn to effectively move 2 spaces at once. If you are sneaking, you can use a Distract card to pull the dinosaur in to your space and it cannot attack you.

I presume that "To win, the Dinosaur Player must eliminate three Characters", means precisely that: "To win, the DINOSAUR PLAYER must eliminate three characters" (as opposed the other ways of eliminating characters)?
