Open E tuning should be mentioned first before the lesson even begins.....he could swing.....great job.....I'm old enough to have seen him play live three times before he passed....he's the reason I play guitar today....sure miss those boys....keep his shoes shining

You are correct, I’m in open E tuning here - awesome how much of the Duane vocabulary is right there in between two frets so much of the time!
