ESMITTY I know shadman, but he never has the chicks get fucked, and that's my main problem. The other problem is that just about everything i find is sfm and not very good.
Smoke is a roamer operator. His weapons are perfect for roaming and flanking. Equip impacts and u can use those to flank and to take care of people trying to flank your teammates. You can hold the objective if you want to but his weapons are best suited for people who like to roam
Smoke makes a great Roamer, he can block entrances and force the enemies right to you or smoke them out of a defensive position, right into your lap. Roam if you want, but your ass better be able to get back to that objective
I play smoke alot, a good way to go about it is place the barbed wire, then place the smoke bomb somewhere near there. This needs to be at a choke point or an area where there will likely be people coming thru, this way, when you hear the rustling of the barbed wire, you can set of the bomb and blast the enemies face off with the shotgun. I also like finding hatches, and when I set off the bomb, drop and loop to where the enemy is running. I've gotten so many kills on plane by doing this.

Smoke is a lingerer. He isn't a full roamed but as not a full anchor. He should stay closeish to the obj and try and pick off someone straying alone. When 40 seconds are left then he should return to the. Obj and the prevent entry with smokes
I love the FMG-9 because head shots are so easy its kinda sad, and also because I am quite possibly the unluckiest person on the planet when it comes to shitguns
Just a tip: Holo is often going to be a better option than the red dot for weapons that don't have an ACOG. It has a slightly higher magnification, making it great for SMGs like Ela's, Mira's and the SMG-11.
I found that running barbed-wire and planting a beutea near by. and then using the wire as an audible sound to know where people are and then setting it off works wonders. On plane it is super effective.
Never used to rate smoke highly, then I found out his SMG-11 is a beastly little gun medium range, and now pretty much main smoke. He has a great variety of utility.
Blitz is so much better after this last update. I love running at people with my shield up watching them be confused and then be blinded by the sweet sweet light!
On oregon on dorms main hall, you can put both barbed wires on the main window, then lean around the wardrobe and throw the smoke inside, I've won hilarious overtime clutches with it
i felt when playing him he was more of a short range anchor (adjacent rooms) and lite spawpeeker with supresive flank capabilities with one get out of free card and impacts i do agree with the 30 to 20 point protection
I hate to self promote, but recently smoke has gotten a shadow buff, that creates a bunch of ways to play smoke. There is a 3-minute video on my channel that shows some of the tricks. But watch Gregor's video first, it's great!
Actually, I get long range kills all the time with the SMG-11. Put the extended barrel on that bad boy, and you can pull headshots from long range for days. The only thing that sucks is the low mag capacity and limited ammo supply.
AFAIK Cloudy boi's smoke is not reliable for vision obstruction for reasons of netcode. Also, I'd challenge the assessment that his absolute best use is as an anchor. He's 2 speed. I don't find his loadout to be conducive to that purpose much at all, and when I'm doing my best I tend to use him as a lurker/flanking operator, rotating back to objective when the seconds actually matter, or, somewhat more creatively, blocking enemies from entering objective from outside objective... it's worked for me. Using him as a flanking op doesn't inherently mean misuse of his gadget, just like using him as an anchor doesn't make it hard for you to get rekt at the start of the round.
