Congrats on the new arrival Larry! Super excited for all your new content on the way. You are part of the reason to my success as a mobile detailer, thanks a lot buddy!
Awesome video as always. I bought a black car long before seeing your channel and I regret the purchase as keeping up with black paint is the bane of humanity when it is your daily driver for long commutes. Either way, after following your tips I've got mine looking better than the day I bought it from the dealership, aside from some lovebug etchings from it's early days....
Larry, Congratulations on your new home, garage, Drive+Protect and of course your SON! Hope mom, baby and the whole family are doing well. Thanks again for everything!
Hey Larry! A small tip that works for me when tinting is when i cut out the tint on the outside of the window, or cutting anything i use a brakeoffblade knife and holds it as far away from where the cutting is taking place and dragging. The cut i have found is getting more straight and nicer. Greetings from sweden!
Great video.. I've always wanted to polish out my black trim, but never figured out the best way to do it. I guess I really need a 3" machine in my arsenal after all.
Congratulations on the birth of your son! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Best for health and happiness Larry! Very pleased to see your hard work paying off!
Phenomenal tutorial, I managed to eliminate about 99% of the scratches. I was, regrettably, left with deeper one that wouldn't come out, but I'm not going to risk the trim just for a few scratches. Thanks, Larry!
Can't wait. The new shop looks nice (at least the corner that you let us see so far). I was wondering why the videos had slowed down and now I know. Congratulations on the baby. They can be a handful! Good luck.
Congratulations on your new born son Larry, and for your move and new direction. I'm sure Drive & Protect will be a huge success. Thanks for another good video and lesson, and for the hours of detailing education you've provided. I've learned so much from just watching you.
SoCal your videos are pretty great as well!!! I’ve been off RU-vid for a while till I got my membership back and didn’t have to watch a million ads lol so have you gave away your seiko yet!?!??
I need to do this to my F150s trim. No matter how careful you are they always manage to get swirled up. Luckily xpel makes a precut kit for those sections so hopefully my first pod install won’t be too difficult.
Really enjoy your stuff Larry, congrats on the new addition and I look forward to the new stuff - just wish I could find a detailer here in NZ who was as good as you!
Congratulations on your family (little boy) and success. You are one excellent teacher. I've said it before and truly mean it. I also train my fellow coworkers in industrial environment. It's very hard to be a very good teacher. You've got it down to perfection. I always learn so much and look forward to detailing my new 2016 lexus is 300
Thank you very much for a great video... My wife scratched her pillars on her 2018 Kia Stinger with a microfiber cloth. This fixed it quickly, and with items I already had in the garage!
Man! Larry, you have been busy! Great job sir! Congrats on the little boy and the new move. I am quite certain DRIVE + PROTECT is going to be informative. Bravo!!!
I also have a Ford Edge and the glossy black trim is super scratched up with swirl marks-just like in the video. Glad to know I can potentially fix it.
I've worked for Ford for the last 15+ years and here in the USA they've used those keyless entry pads since the 90's. The used to be physical buttons early on and over the last few years have switched to touch base, they used to come on their premium packaged models but they're starting to be pretty much standard equipment now. Looks like you have a 15'-17' Ford edge titanium or sport there.
For some reason i keep seeing your videos pop up and instantly you remind me of Linus Tech Tips.... I have no idea why. Anyway i've now subbed as i like keeping my car super clean and smelling nice. I've recently found using the little scent balls you pop in with your washing is amazing if you use them on your AirCon filter. Gives the whole car a fresh washing scent 24/7. Nice videos.
Congratulations on your new born! And looking forward to more episodes of Drive + Protect! My water supplier hates me ever since I subscribed to your channel 😂
Larry great stuff as usual! Will you be shooting any videos featuring your Porsche soon? I love your 911! editor's note, it didn't sound like static but the volume was fluctuating a bit, lighting was just fine! can't wait for the new vids!
Congratulations on your baby boy!! Great video as always! I can't wait for your new upcoming videos! Thanks you so much for sharing your knowledge and being the coolest detail guy out there! love you Larry :)
Can you do a video on a good starter kit, I know you have told us many times the tools you used spread across a long list of videos but one video of what we need for basic car care!
Could you do a similar video on how to remove stains from matte black trim. I havent really found a solution for removing grease stains from fingers etc from it. Congrats on the baby and greetings from Finland!
Larry, what if the trim is looking a little faded. Can I still comfortably polish and seal or do you think it be better to just sand and re clear before the clear fails and then it will also need paint? I don’t know if they used strong chemicals and it just dull it or if the clear is just about to fall off. It looked a little better with a little polish I used I just don’t know if I can used a machine because the trim is also swirl.
Nice vid L. I think you need better light in your garage though. Very yellow. Are those High Output Ballasts ? I'm running T5 HO 5k bulbs in mine and they seem brighter than yours (you need HO ballasts). I feel your outdoor vids are just more pleasant to watch... perhaps you need a bit of wall art to take away fro the white backdrop. Even just your logo on the wall or similar.
Hello, so me the best results I had on the black lacquered (piano trim on Ford Focus RS MK2) are with: Meguiar ultimate compound (meguiar's cut pad Burgundy), ultimate polish (meguiar's polishing pad yellow) and ultimate wax (meguiar's finishing pad black), and 24h after Ultimate fast finish (optional). With powerful lamp = no more micro-scratches or swirls! I tested m105 then m205, but swirls persisted !, perhaps too abrasive for the fragile "black piano trim!" but actually with meguiar's 3 Ultimate Steps the result is awesome, deep black, wet, shiny, without any swirls 😀
