Supported my first print today from scratch. Printed successfully! Thanks to you and one other RU-vidr for sharing your knowledge. When I get good I'll hit you up for a job 😂!
@@TableFlipFoundry It's more then that, your earlier video on how to support set me on my path to 3D printing with no failures and almost perfect detail.
I'm new here and I am new to resin printing. . .well 3d printing in general. Thankfully I found you! I have had my printer for one week today and I have not been able to successfully print - - - until I warched your class!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Thank you sir for helping us newbs out..every time I watch your vids..I "learn" something new! Your cones have made calibration so much easier!! Looking forward to the new ones..
Another great video, thanks for the explanation. This really helps and shows why my last bases were off a bit (not 100% circular). Appreciate the time and energy. Awesome job.
I have so much trouble printing bases that I've practically given up trying. I *thought* i knew the double row method, but i was clearly wrong and now I'm looking forward to trying again! Also, the brief demonstration of using this method for irregular shaped bases was great to see - i hadn't even thought of using the same method on irregular shapes, even though it seems to obvious. Cheers!
Great tutorial. I wish I had the time and space to mess with my printer, but I am just fighting with too many factors right now. I printed off a few that came out pretty great, but I went through a bunch of FEPs and kinda gave up for the time being.
Don't quit on it. 3D printing has it's challenges, but once you get there, you get it. You will still have fails, and blow out FEPs, but that's just part of it. Best of luck!
THANK YOU! I've been lost for days and finally have a solid game plan supporting my models which all have flat backs like a base. Question for anyone, how do you get the yellow grid pattern to show up? Sometimes I see it, but most of the time I don't, is it something you can turn on?
@@TableFlipFoundry lol thanks! I did find it in the live stream class tho. I'm going with .2 small, .3 medium, and .4 large cuz the damn Halot box only goes to the tens digit. 😠
Just sub I have a large base fail over and over was about ready to get out of resin printing thanks for the video. One thing I was wondering about is the base hollow? I would like to keep not hollowed because I like to print tall models and the base adds weight
Maybe I missed a part, but what's the best rotation angle to keep the round base for optimal printing and no distortion? more than 45 degree, a bit less?
To some degree it can, some of the really big models will have very long supports on the back end, and you want to make sure to add extra bracing on those. - Sorry for the late reply. It's hard to keep up sometimes.
I think failed prints are a bigger waste of resin. But also, professionally, I prefer to use a support technique that offers more stability during the printing process. Especially when holding a perfect shape is so important like on round bases. You're welcome to try to use branched supports if you like. But the resin savings is usually so marginal it's insignificant. 1 or 2 ml. Sometimes less.
