Im a 6”1 240 pound TE, I’ve been considering cutting to 225 so I can be leaner/faster . Also to get in better shape, any speed drills or tips. And also do you think 6”1 is a good size?

Yo so for the school i want to walk on to they already had their walk on tryouts in the winter. They require you to be enrolled at their school and obviously I was still a high school senior but now that I’m graduating and plan on walking on I just don’t know if they have tryouts for incoming freshman

Whenever teams host tryouts they are usually open to everyone as long as you are a full time student.

@@lalaeatinagotdamnburger3416 it’s really personal preference. Obviously Fbs gets more “looks” but there are a ton of fcs players who also go to the next level.

I'm from Brazil and I wanted to know how the Defensive Lineman tryouts work and do all colleges have walk on tryouts?

For offensive and defensive lineman most teams value size, they are more than likely going to want to see your bench press as well as how well you move laterally as well as hand usage. All colleges will have walk on tryouts at some point it just depends on the availability of roster spots.

What would you suggest a TE do to get ready, like drill wise? I’m more of a receiving TE but I’m decent at blocking.

Blocking is all in the technique. Closing ground on the defender and taking the air out between both of you. There are a few drills circulating that you can rep. Keep a “ball-me-man” relationship and force them to have to go through you.
