Love the session. I've been looking for practical advice forever and finally found it. Thank you! Where can I get more ideas about how to turn exercises into games - like your "red light-green light" push up challenge, for example.

This one video has so much information and value, its a game-changer as a trainer. Its seems like I've had too much time wasted doing my certification. I wish I lived in the states so I could do the internship. I think I'm going to do the online one.

Love the video and your channel. I have learned so much from your videos and I just passed my NASM exam. When you refer to the circuits in the video are you meaning to do the exercises back to back? I am worried it might be too tough on beginners to do basically a giant superset with the circuits. But I guess if I have a 30 minute session I have to do that to enable them to get a full workout in.

How long should it take to program like 4-6 weeks worth of workouts for a client? I can't tell if I'm overthinking things and taking way too long with that or what. I am a beginner at this, however. I'm sure that with time and practice with programming, the flow may become easier and a little faster. But I'm curious as to your thoughts on that! Like you said, we shouldn't just be throwing together exercises without thought, intention, or design. I wholeheartedly agree and I take all of this stuff so seriously. So that's why I go slow with it. Also, do you have any videos on your channel that go into detail on programming through "phases" and how to set up different periods of phases for a client to go through? I know how you feel about NASM's OPT Model being outdated and I agree with you on that, too. That's why I'm even watching your video here. I went through NASM, I take my exam on April 5th, and even though I'm about to get certified, I still have felt somewhat lost on programming/phasing, which is a major aspect of the job! I don't want to settle and want to be able to get my clients results! So I've been trying to research online to get a better structure and idea of how to go about this stuff.

We have a lot of videos on how to program for different populations. We review a lot of programming in our online internship (daily classes) Bc programming is a huge part of the job. If you don't know how to do that, you will be in a world of hurt!

Love your videos. I'm currently taking my NASM course, and the videos that they make suck ass. The trainers are so robotic and boring. I plan on buying your study guide so that I get myself done with the program asap because I didn't think I was going to be reading a book that is 900 pages long. The People at NASM are probably laughing their asses off

Hi Chris, I was wondering on your thoughts of obtaining the NSCA CPT certification vs. the NASM certification and which one you think is more valuable in the long run?
@ShowUpFitness
@ShowUpFitness 2 года назад
Get whatever is cheaper. Nasm allows for a payment plan. You can get our guide and pass it within a month. Neither provide hands on learning or supervised experience and that's what you need. Nsca is actually science based.

Question. You mention that you wouldn't have the client doing knee pushups or t-pushups (I agree) and that they may not ever be able to do a pushup on that first week. What sort of pushups are you having them do? You mentioned using a band, I believe. What about incline pushups (wall, bench, box, etc)?
