Oxalis or Shamrock (or Love Plant) - annual or perennial plant (depending on variety).
They are very shade-tolerant plants, can live in the spruce forests with illumination equal to 1/200 of the total solar illumination.
Relative to the water in the soil - mesophyte. Lives in conditions with more or less sufficient, but not excessive amounts of water in the soil.
The flowers are regular, built according to the five type, the petals are white, pink or yellow, the stamens are ten.
In the leaves of the oxalis, potassium oxalate is found, giving an acidic taste, for example, oxalis ordinary, common in shady forests.
Oxalis is an intermediate plant of rust fungus - rust corn (Puccinia sorghi Schw.)

Love the time lapse at the end! I tried to propagate Oxalis once and was unsuccessful- probably insufficient watering on my part!

Imádom ezt a mutatós növényt! Ősszel kiszedem a földből, most pihennek tőzegbe. Mikor lehet újra ültetni őket?

That was wonderful thank you for sharing this, I brought back a shamrock for my sister from Tennessee and want to propagate it to get a couple more because of the color is so beautiful I'm tired of just green! LOL! Does the soil matter much? And I only get a couple hours of sunlight a day in the winter time would that be sufficient you think? And I totally love the way you time-lapse that with the watering that was the bomb! Thanks again have a blessed day!

I noticed you tied the stems of the leaves together. I've never seen that before. What does it do for the plant?
@DeltaDaspleto
@DeltaDaspleto 4 года назад
Very likely a support for them remaining upright and not drooping

The best thing about this plant is how Hardy it is. I keep neglecting my plants often, a month between each watering. Almost all of them died but this one doesn't care 😂

@satanlovesmemoreable
@satanlovesmemoreable 6 лет назад
F Medina , free draining . Get a good potting soil then add one part perlite , vermiviculite, turface or any other substance to aid airation. Water from the bottom

How come in the description you list not excessive amounts of water but in the video you seem to flood it with water from the hose such that the water overflows?
@DeltaDaspleto
@DeltaDaspleto 4 года назад
Overflooding it once is alot better than watering small - medium amounts every few days What he means with not excessive amounts is that the roots should not stay wet for an extended period of time or they will begin to rot Underwatering a little is better than overwatering

Hello Jasmin I don’t think it’s going to survive because in my country (Cyprus) we have wild ones ,there yellow flowered and green leaves, and we are a zone 10b so ... if you want try it !
@superbvillany1678

Bring them indoors during the winter months. You can still plant it in the yard for spring

I just bought 12 bulbs. Contemplating how many to plant. Honestly, I don't quiet understand. Does the plant multiply itself and creats more bulbs (that can be later separated like shown in this video)?. How many stems ("butterflies ") come out of each bulb? Will the plant produce more bulbs later in each of your smaller pots?
@satanlovesmemoreable
@satanlovesmemoreable 6 лет назад
Noa R i had grabbed 3 from my inlaws and i have at least 10 leaves and 4 flower stalks from one poorly planted bulb. Its grows like potatoes kind of , if that makes sense. Im very happy with my free plant
