I'd wager that it's a very select few characters that actually have a true punish for this move.
So you are going to have to do a bit more guessing if you aren't playing such a privileged character.
Hopkick works as a substitute but it goes very fast down after that in terms of how many options you can cover at once.
Because Ling wasn't tricky enough as it was, yeah?
