I love the breed but I hate the docking and cropping. They are sensitive, protective, intelligent, powerful and so beautiful. Lovely host on this video. Thanks Zeke
Docking and cropping is important to the breed. Without it they break their thin tails from wagging and end up getting them amputated anyway. And their ears get chronic infections when they lay down
@@shanesolar3924 Not even close to true. Cropping is illegal in European countries and Australia. The dogs are more than fine. The ear cropping is 100% for aesthetic. Facts.
@Nalesh Hewavithana I would disagree with you there. Whether it be humans, other dogs, or livestock in the example of a livestock guardian, dogs typically thrive well in a pack like environment. Even stray dogs tend to form miniature packs. In their most basic form, dogs tend to act more like their ancestors than we give them credit for. I wont disagree that many dogs are domesticated and do not display many of those same traits as their ancestors, but to say that dogs are not pack animals is inaccurate. To take a certain species of fish like a danio and put it in a tank by itself does not mean that it’s not a schooling fish. It just has no other option. If you put 10 more danios and with that same danio, it will school with those danios. The same example applies here.
@@oranjmusemeyer968 the US is where I live, so I am only familiar with the standard here. I do know that docking and cropping is not a legal practice in places like the UK, but I can only speak on the US standard.
