Good video.......thanks for taking the time to make it. You made it clear throughout that you are not a professional, but it's still a beneficial tutorial for us DIY'ers.
Just for future, if you are doing it again, spray the 2 ends first, wait for the glue to go tacky then lay one side down, pull tight on the opposite side keeping felt straight then repeat on the sides. This will eliminate at wrinkles before starting on the pockets
Great video was looking for a used one kinda wanted to know how and how much $$ it would cost, you covered both the areas, i wished you would have shown how to put it on the bumpers to.. loved it plain and very simple.. thanks
First, I appreciate the video. Most of us aren't pro players or installers and don't need perfection. You demonstrated the "Get 'er done" approach that many of us would do and it was good to see how it went. The professionals, of course, are a bit more refined and strive for perfection, but that can be daunting as can the price of having them do it. That said, there are some better steps, like putting a patch of spray glue at the center of the short end, go to other short end, stretch, and so on. I'm thinking glue all around might not let the felt adjust and allow buckling over time. So I'm watching lots of videos to choose my approach. But this was helpful and... you "got 'er done"! Have fun!
Thank you,it is a great video, did you use 3m super 77? it says on amazon that it will try in 15 second, but in your video it take that long time before you put felt on the glue.. Thanks
After a few years of playing pool, I lost interest so now I have my table in the basement with plywood over the top and use it for a work bench for my wood working. lol
First off this is not the right way to do this! But he is trying.... I noticed he lifted the slate? You don't lift slate. And it doesn't lift that easy? So he is recovering a composition table, not a real slate table.
Well, it is obvious that this guy is not a professional installer, but it takes common knowledge to know that the the glue will not adhere correctly to the felt if you keep pulling it off, then laying it back on the slate. I'm sure there wasnt much time before the felt came unglued from the edges. Maybe he should have seen a few more RU-vid videos before trying it himself. If you want it done right, hire a professional. Cheap labor is not skilled and Skilled labor is not cheap.
