Retroactively, this makes sense. I was hunting a Charmander in Rock Tunnel, and I thought standing there or reloading the area would help my chance getting it. I thought it had worked with previous hunts, but after watching this, I realise I just got super lucky. xD

Long video to say "hey guess what I was right the whole time!" streamer. Nah I'm joking I love that you explained this. Not only did you as a player get more benefit by continuing to catch the same species, your players got more benefit by seeing more things happening on screen. It had to be a more entertaining stream than watching someone sit there waiting for the 1/1000 chance of a new spawn rolling shiny. I remember your Let's Go streams, they were a lot of fun! At least, until you got trapped in the eternal hunt for Articuno...

so the new pokemon that spawns from ram reseting still count with the bonus? or does the bonus just appear after you catch something?

The "RAM reset" spawns are not affected by the Catch Combo, just lures an the shiny charm.

I’m watching this in April 2023, since I just recently got, let’s go Pikachu. I think this is a great mechanic little game reward you for playing the game. It’s so far-fetched that games preceding this, didn’t just keep the same mechanic of gaining more assets the more you catch Pokémon. That’s why when I play Scarlet and Violet and I do the auto battle. I don’t stop until my shiny sandwich runs out

Anubis is a well known and trusted resource that Serebii and other sites uses. On top of that, she does show her work and how she figured it out.

@@PKMNcast oh don't get me wrong, I really don't doubt her and I get the point that she's a trusted source when the other story really wasn't a trusted source at all but im just meaning its still basically the same thing because 99.9% of people can only know this information from the dataminers and cannot confirm it for themself cos they obviously don't know how to and basically need to trust what the data miner is saying is truthful (if that makes any sense) Basically my point is the only one who really know the answers for sure are the actual game developers

At about 14 minutes in you talk about making more money from continuous catching. But that's kinda inaccurate. Using roughly 31-62 balls and 1-5 lures is alot cheaper than using 500-1000 balls and dozens of lures. You'd be at a net loss either way.

I have 1000 hours of recorded footage of making a profit consistently. You’d only be at a wash using Ultra, Poké Balls are pure profit for candy and berry selling after catches.

@@PKMNcast I mean sure, if you only use pokeballs and always catch the pokemon first try you'd break even or get a lil bit of profit. But that's unrealistic for anything past the first couple routes. Especially on hunts with pokemon that are harder to catch. So like if you're hunting pidgey you could make a profit, if you're hunting ponyta you definitely won't. This is coming from someone that had a 500 chain of ponyta and kept losing money slowly. Candy and normal berries don't give enough to make up for the initial loss, you need silver or gold berries and if rng isn't heavily in your favour then you'll lose money.

I hate and love this lol I was doing the ram reset thing unknowing about the reddit troll post (genuinely figured that would be viable given the Pokemon seemed like they reset.) walking in and out of a door literally thousands of times. Anyways swapped to just catching more Bellsprouts In my case and huh... About 30 catches later I get my shiny bellsprout. Moral of the story is. Just play the game and chain em lol don't be a dingus like me Also edit and thanks to the maker of this video your information was solid!

did this but it's not really a big deal. you'd get a shiny faster with the "wrong" method we were using compared to what Anubis was saying. i continued my chain to 413 and nothing happened no shiny showed up and i ended up breaking my chain. it's statistically correct but a mere crap if im being honest.
