Nice tutorial. I just did my FXDXT fork oil today then saw your video. I'm curious how you got the cartridge out? The last time I had my forks apart I could not figure out how the cartridge comes out. I removed the screw at the bottom and was able to get everything apart except the cartridge.

I bought the FXDX forks and rear shocks for my 05 low rider in Feb 2021. Harley MIGHT have new forks still… I had to fabricate a spring compressor

Great video very helpful like all the others I’m getting my 02 Fxdxt set up for stunt riding and wondering if the stock springs are ok or if I should go for the hd springs with heavier oil, I’ve seen a lot of guys running legends carts but that’s a bit out my budget at the moment. Thanks

If I just want to remove the lowers can I just unbolt from the bottom/drain/remove dust shields, and pop them off? Or do I need to unthread the carts out the tubes.

You should take it to someone that specializes in suspension set up and have them do it properly. Otherwise you’re just guessing.

I have a 2003 FXDX and the last time the forks were rebuilt was when I had my local HD dealer powder coat the lower tubes. That was back in 2015 but I bet I have not put 10,000 miles on it since. Is there a way to flush the fork fluid without Performing A total fork rebuild? And how often should this service be performed? Thanks!

Every 10,000 miles and those are cartridges so you have to completely disassembled him to prime the cartridge

Set the dampers up tight preload you just gotta fill it out for yourself

Where did you get the lower stops? I assume they came out of the lowers. If so how do you get them out without damaging the lowers stops?

You pulled them out and put a new seal on them and put them back in.

Alot of people prefer the 00 to 02 but if you've got good money I think you can make any Dyna pretty nice! But these Fxdx's are sought out because of the suspension and how the geometry is.

00-05 FXDX's and FXDXT's for my first pick and if not a set up FXD. The FXDX just feels different. I've had a few on own a built one. My 18yr brother saved for a few years to buy one soon. The only thing is in California they are pricey.

Any 2000 05 is really good. 2000 to 2002 has a timken bearing bottom end and a smaller frame they are the best. But 0405 fuel injection is also really really nice. It’s kind of personal preference late models are also really good as well depending on how big you are.

A guy can spend a big chunk of change to put suspension under these bike but I can find very little about what a good handling setup might actually be. You mentioned at the end of the video that the DX fork is good shit, but what's a guy to do with his stock harley junk? You guys built a screamer race bike, so I know there's a lot of suspension knowledge rolling around that shop and I live near some sick mountain roads but I'm not going back to sport bikes...

The only thing to do if your stock Harley suspension is thrown in the trash and buy some good stuff. The DX Fork is the only good thing they ever made.

Hi Kruesi Origionals team! I have a question, forgive me if it sounds retarded but im new to harleys and im learning as I go. I'm a long time subscriber from England, over hear the sportster is the go-too harley as we have huge import tariffs that make them all super expensive. I bent my 39mm sporty forks in a crash but was wondering if its possible to upgrade to a 49mm set up. im a welder and machinist so sudtom fork clamps are not an issue. do you think a set of 49mm forks and legends axeo cartridges would work with the lower weight of a sporty? thanks for all the videos, you nspired a Brit to buy American!

You would need to get Dyna super glide 49 mm trees and it will all bolt up. He will probably have gas tank clearance issues unless you have a peanut think.
