Loosening that vault screw was crazy. I had my surface cleaner in a leg lock, leaned back, and used my full body weight to get is loose 😂 Thanks for the video.
Just a helpful tip, all there is to rebuilding a swivel like this are replacing the two bearings and oring. You can get a 4 pack of png bearings 6302 2RS for around $10. Just fyi.
@@jaypemberton8253 I usually just match it up at home depot. That's where I buy all my orings for the hoses and tips. Not the colored ones in the pressure washer section though. Go to the plumbing section for good quality orings.

im trying to build one of these, having a bit of trouble understanding how it functions....during use (ie when pressure is introduced), that carbide seat, doesn't it compress the spring & break the seal? then does the sealed chamber just fill?
I have a mi-t-m 20inch surface cleaner , the swivel almost looks like this but has two holes at the bottom , when u pull the spray trigger water comes from the spray tips AND the two holes at the bottom of the swivel . Is that a sign that it needs repair or replaced? This was a hand me down lol
Mi-T-M models could be identical to the Whirl-a-Way seen in this video. If your model has this same swivel what you are seeing is water leaking out of the "weep holes". This is to let you know you need to replace your seals inside the swivel. At this point you have 2 options. To repair ONLY the seals, you could order part #85.790.001 found here :
The seal kit needs to be replaced. The seals are wear and tear parts and over time they simply need to be changed. Like tires on a car. Even if they remain unused, they can simply dry rot over time. With enough use they simply wear out.
i went ahead and used a socket to loosen the piece that is on the end where the two notched piece goes in . Now it is time to put it back together and it looks like it had some type of sealant what do you recommend i use to seal it back together.
I do not believe any sealant is required. the "notched" piece should sit in the hole(where the spring is) and the 2 notches should align with the 2 pegs.
I have a simpson surface cleaner, almost identical to that.. Do you by chance have other videos that may show more detail for that model? I've searched for this and can't find the simpson version? Great video, thanks!!
I believe mine is a whirl-a-way as well but yellow... sound right? My swivel has a wobble to it but not leaking water.... I’m assuming I need to do what you did in this video?
It it's "shaking" when you spray but it still spins (but maybe slower) then I would first check for debris at my spray tips. If it spins freely while not hooked up but "locks" completely while under pressure then rebuild the swivel
JN Equipment I brought it to my local shop, they said it might have a cracked bearing, wobbles... The bar was bent as well. Replaced the bar and it sped it back up but still need to do what you did in this vid. Do you sell the bearings for a 20” whirlaway?

was the whisper equipped with a different cartridge housing in the past? mine seems to be different, it doesnt unscrew to remove the cartridge upward, it requires mine to be push downward instead
if this is regards to a WHISPER WASH unit which is not featured in this video than yes, there are 2 different types of swivels. The newer Series 3 swivels are GREEN and the assembly pushes up, the older black swivels have to be taken apart one piece at a time.
