I'm literally doing this right now. I've got this pump and have a rebuild kit for it. I found this video helpful. I'm not sure why my rebuild kit didn't come with the hourglass o-ring though. It's pretty flat and in need of replacement.

We are glad to hear that, thank you for watching. Hmm it depends from kit to kit, not sure if it is possible to buy it separately, we hope you will find it! We plan to grow this channel buy adding new tutorials/reviews/diy videos, if you are in need of some other diy videos, write as a comment and we will try to make one. All the best ATR.

Does this pump have ball bearings? My pump shaft is wobbly and this is what caused the seal to go bad I suspect..

@addictedtorust Год назад
Is it the same exact pump like this one, as there are few different versions? They have brass inserts on shaft that can worn out and that could cause your shaft to be wobbly. This video only shows shaft seal replacement, but full rebuild including brass is something that can be done only in specialized shops and not as DIY job. Because of that we didn't record it as full refurbishment job.

wouldnt you recommend to replace all seals and also the o-rings, if you have the pump apart anyway?

Yes, definitely, it totally make sense, I wrote that in video description already. Reason why I didn't do it, my pump broke down and I needed to fix it really urgent, seal I needed was in stock but for others I needed to wait for 2 weeks...

What are the torque specs for this pump
@mustir7667

Hay, what were the tightening torques on the bolts?
@addictedtorust
@addictedtorust Год назад
We couldn't find torque specs for this pump so my mechanic used ones he thinks were ok. Not sure exactly, but I think it was something like 1kg of force for each bolt, but I would strongly recommend factory suggested values if they can be found. Sorry for later reply.

what grit sandpaper did you use

You should use smoothest grit sandpaper, just to make it bit better, but not to overdo it as it will make things worse...

Is this the dual circuit pump? Looks like it might be.
@addictedtorust
@addictedtorust 2 года назад
Not sure what is it actually required in order to be considered as "dual circuit pump". This one definitelly has two more lines for ASD (anti slip differential) then regular pumps.
@meadedillon1715
@meadedillon1715 2 года назад
@@addictedtorust Then it is a dual-circuit pump. One circuit is for the power steering, the other is for the ASD. Not a very common pump. All the wagons have them for the SLS rear suspension, a few sedans have them for either ASD or SLS.

@@meadedillon1715 thank you a lot for clarification. This was my old pump that I just used to record this video, how to change shaft seal (I didn't find tutorial, so I wanted to create one). I would definitely suggest better parts cleaning and changing all oil seals while pump is fully dissembled. I hope this video was helpful in any case. I am starting channel dedicated for working on older cars, currently Mercedes w116 and w124, but hopefully I will soon add w201, w115, w126 and others... Thank you one more time for watching.

I have this exact same pump but have been unable to get the full seal kit for it. Were you able to find all of the seals anywhere?
@addictedtorust
@addictedtorust 7 месяцев назад
I asked MB dealer next to me and ordered what they had at that time, and what they didn't have I think I found somewhere on Ebay. But definitely I had some issues sourcing all that also... I hope you will find everything what you need, without big trouble...
