This week, we rebuild the power steering pump in my W140 S320. Similar procedures apply for many of the ZF pumps installed in Mercedes, and the Vickers pumps aren’t all that different, either.
This exact procedure only applies to pump P/N 140 466 60 01, though the steps are similar for most ZF pumps as stated above.

I have a question. Since I have a 1993 600sel and it only had pre cat O2 sensors. Will I get a cel if I remove/bypass it?

If you bypass the pre-cat O2 sensors your car won't run correctly - those sensors feed back to the ECU to allow for closed-loop control of fueling, very necessary for proper function. Thanks for watching!

@@redonKiLaus I was referencing that the 93 600sel has only 2 pre cat O2 sensors and no post cat O2 that there should not be any issues.

Thank you for this video! I got 97 S600 and the fluid is leaking. Don't know if it's one of the hoses or the pump itself... The problem is everything is SUPER tight. Pump and hoses are jammed between engine, frame and other stuff...

Yep, the engine bay on the 600s is super, super tight. I'm always of the mindset on these of doing everything while I'm in there if it's not in perfect shape...if you suspect both lines and pump, might as well do it all. Thanks for watching!

@@redonKiLaus Yup, I'd like to clean the lines as much as I can (they are indeed super jammed down there), then refill PS fluid and try finding the source of the leak... I hope it's not the pump.

What power steering fluid do you recommend for this exact application? I have the same pump

Does stop it from making noise or just seal leaks?

Can certainly do both, although if your pump is groaning and your fluid level is good and fluid is clean, you probably have internal parts damage. Thanks for watching!

I can’t get the belt to come off on mine I don’t know if you still use RU-vid or anything if you do and could reply to help me out it would be amazing I can’t even figure out if I’m on the correct pulley

Have you tried going both ways on the tensioner pulley? If I remember correctly the W140 M104 has a CCW release, though don't quote me on that. Worth a check. I believe the 124/129 M104s use a different tensioning system as well. Thanks for watching!
