I bought my printer for $20 during Thanksgiving 5 years before. When I checked for a refill, it cost double the price of my printer. So I didn't replace it for more than 4 years since I took all my printouts from the office. During the lock down I had no other option. Since original refills were super costly I thought of buying a new printer. But none of the budget printers were available in stock near my place. So I ended up searching for the third party ink replacement. I found your video. I was not confident but thought of giving it a try since the refill cost was very reasonable. To my surprise, it worked like a charm on my five-year-old printer. But it didn't show ink levels and I get a warning whenever I restart the printer. But I can live without ink levels. Thank you again for sharing.
That vacuum part is amazing, thank you so much for that! I couldn't get my yellow, or cyan, to come out, I knew I needed to suction them but didn't know how without the tool, this worked perfectly the first time!
Everything that you stated in your video was simply brilliant!!! The trick with the vacuum to get the ink flowing was awesome! I did everything that you said, including the vacuum trick, and it worked like a charm as I got my ink cartridge working again. I also liked your advice to fill the ink cartridge BEFORE it runs out and the printer starts detecting and rejecting it to be used again. Yes, these HP cartridges are a pain and a money grabber - they just put all these obstacles in front of a person so that he/she gives up and buys a new cartridge which can get expensive over time. I agree, the best saying of your video - "Stick it to the Man!" I love it! Thank you so much for posting this video that just promotes common sense in order to help others. I can't thank you enough. Your video was well worth it - I Liked it and I Subscribed! Excellent job! Paul.
Thank you, it worked. I ordered my ink from China, it took approx 8 weeks to arrive. To my surprise it still worked, because I ordered when my cartridge it was completely dry. I did take a paper towel and dampened the end where the ink comes out, used about 7 ml, then I put the cartridge in and after a couple of copies I showed my husband who said the better copy is the one I printed.
Thank you so much, I bought the refill kit from Amazon, No instructions inside, I watched a couple of other videos on line but still no luck in getting it to work, But your Vacuum trick worked ,yes the 3rd time I saw ink seep through. It worked perfectly. With the high cost of refills these days this is a no brainer. Thank you again so much.
Thanks for this video. Simple and easy to follow. I bought refill for a printer I had before and had no idea what I was doing. Needless to say, that was a waste of money for me....lol. YOU ROCK!!!
Several hp inkjets remember the last 3 or more cartridges and keep complaining that the cartridge is empty by its estimation process. Keep 4 or more cartridges around and install 3 or more old ones till you add the "NEW" one. it will see the last couple and think it hasnt seen the "NEW" one before.
I tried to prime my cartridge with the clip they sent several times with no success. Then I saw your video and I'm glad I did. That vacuum cleaner trick really works. Thanks.
Thank you for your video is answered prayer to this frustration I have had with my printer costing me so much money on the cartridges. I learned the vacuuming part new today from your video. Thanks for sharing. Amby
Great video. I also bought these inks, and I'm really happy with the quality of the print produced from the refilled cartridges. As with other reviewers, really appreciate the tip on using a vacuum cleaner to prime the cartridges, especially as no priming tool is provided with the kit.
I did a refill on an HP 2710 all in one printer. The first one I did was black 63XL I pieced the hole as was suggested and the cartridge was not recognized and the printer would not print. I suspect the label has information on it as it is foil. The second one I did was 63XL tricolor. I used a heatgun but a blow dryer might work and I carefully pealed off the label with a razor blade. I did the refills really loading them with ink and it worked and still working for 2 months. The third time I did a black 63 non-xl. I cut the bottom label corner accidently while removing the label. The cartridge would not stop dripping because when I put the label back on air was getting sucked through the cut label at the top. I sealed it with clear silicone sealant and a piece of shipping label. The label was porous so I had to coat the label surface with silicone sealant as well. I popped it back in and it works great. If the foil label won't lay flat I used Scotch Super 77 adhesive which will allow me to remove the label again next time. For black you only need to remove the label half way. For color remove a third of the label at the top and a third at the bottom.
This video was the only one who helped me. Follow all the step by step that comes with the recharge and nothing. Thank you so much for sharing this discovery
I’ve been using hp 92 and 61 for 17 plus years on eBay. Almost every time I refilled the old ones they still didn’t work. After watching this and using the vacuum cleaner suction trick, I tried this on a 21 year old 61xl and it worked only after I used the vacuum trick lmao. Thanks!
I've long thought that this could be done but haven't seen it done. Thanks for sharing! The cost of ink for printers is above and beyond ridiculous for how long it last.
@@TomMcDonaldatYahooDotCom I never thought about it by the gallon but it doesn't take a fool to see that ink cost 50 times too much like everything else.
Ive seen a lot of kits and i wondered why would i need so many things just to put ink inside a plastic box? I thought about just buying the ink bottle plus a syringe, and i also thought about using a vacuum cleaner to do the bottom part XD, your idea of using some paper to protect the cartridge was brilliant. Thanks for the video ^^.
For the coloured the process is the same but unlike the black each colour must go into its perspective holes.....the red that is in the middle goes into the top hole, the blue and yellow goes into whichever sides they are found on.
I have an Envy 7640 with 62 cartridge and this works for me but may not work for you but if you follow any of this advice you do so at your own risk: First refill one cartridge and put into machine and then do the next so the head of the cartridges do not dry out as you're doing this. If you get a scratchy copy that might mean you have to clean the cartridge head. I do this by taking a small plate, putting just a bit of hot water in in and letting the head of the cartridge sit in the water for about 5 minutes. Then I gently pat dry the clean the cartridge with a soft wipe and wipe the pins with a q tip... be careful not to damage the pins. Also look at where you install your cartridge and clean that area thoroughly. I bought sponge sticks which work well to soak up any ink residue in the cartridge chamber (including the sponges in them) but again I gently wipe the pins inside the printer cartridge area with a q tips. After the ink is added gently clean the entire cartridge with a wipe and use q tips to clean off the pins in the front. If when you gently wipe the cartridge head you don't see ink, use the apparatus that holds the cartridge and a syringe underneath to draw out the ink through the printhead. If there's no ink take a plate and fill just a bit with hot water and let the cartridge head soak for about 5 minutes... Don't get the entire cartridge wet, just the cartridge head. Then try again... If color you should see small streaks bit blue, magenta and yellow in the water and on your wipes... and for black you'll see black. If you want to try to tape the pin on each cartridge to over-ride the error code -- you must do this very gently and carefully, there is a chance if you don't you can scratch the pins, you could also pull the pins right off the cartridge so you'll have to do this at your own risk (I do and I've not have a problem) Turn the pin head towards you and looking at the pin head: - For color tape the very bottom pin on the bottom right - For black tape the middle pin on the very top How I tape: Without gloves cut a piece of tape into about a 1/2" rectangle... Then cut that into an angle like a long triangle -- have a wider side and then a narrow side just wide enough to cover the pin. Next on the very clean cartridge very carefully cover the pin gently but and then firmly push the tail of the tape onto the plastic... You need a tail in case you have to remove the tape plus if it gets loose you can hopefully grab it gently with a tweezers. After that take a small (but not sharp) object, I use a tiny crochet hook -- press down on the reset button of each cartridge, these are on top of the cartridge and are round with a slight depression. Press down for 12-15 seconds and put back into cartridge holder. This works for me but I cannot guarantee and you should be aware if you use the tape you run the risk of pulling off the pin which I can't guarantee you won't, but if you don't want to do the tape then you might want to try pressing down on the reset button(s) for at least 12 to 15 seconds... hope it works for you :) Reply
update: refilling the official hp store bought regular and XL cartridges works, the no name refills did not work for me as well. so now i will just refill the 'official' ones.
You’re video was the only one that actually Helped me. NowI have a question.. is refilling cartridges good for printing other things besides documents? I’ve tried printing stickers and the ink tends to be textured doesn’t come out smooth, you see lines running through it I’m not sure what I did wrong or if I did anything wrong I clean the cartridges but the problem still occurs. Could it be the ink ?
Tips & Tricks: 1. Wear gloves 2. Make a work space with something you don't mind getting ink on. I used paper grocery bag. I would use something you can throw away. Unless you are hand washing after. I would not put it in the washing machine unless you don't care about ink inside your washer, dryer and other things you are washing. 3. Wear gloves. 4. Wear an apron. 5. Have rubbing alcohol on hand. Near by. At least, it's what I used when I got it on my light beige carpet. 😤😁 6. Have extra paper towels already off the roll ready to use. 7. Wear gloves. 8. If you use the vacuum method, only do 1 or 2 second bursts. Trust me. 9. Don't open the bottle all the way, just poke needle through the foil, it will be better later when you need to tip the bottle some. 10. Wear gloves. 11. If using plastic throw away gloves you can take an unused pair and sips the tips off the fingers to put over the ink bottle and then put the lid back on. I know it's not necessary but it has helped me. 12. Tighten the caps closed. Check again before storing. 13. Did I say wear gloves?? Trust me. You're not that good. I am and I still need gloves. JK 😛 Just get some gloves will ya.. I say trust me but you don't know me so, there's that but I will say... alcohol took it out of my carpet. It didn't take it off my skin...
No need to take sticker off. Just scrach right upper corner untill you see hole and after refill put it back. Or you can find hole(deepier dot on surface abot half mm) by scarching sticker so you dont peel it off at all.
Thanks for the video. How would I know which holes to fill with which color on a HP 62 ? What if the cartridge stops working from what seems like ink drying up ? Much appreciated.
Thank you, love your video because it's very easy to follow and simple. You said you are going to make a video on color which I wasn't able to find yet. Please shase the link on your description.

I know this is old video, but where can I get ink locally without ordering & waiting for shipping?? Does it matter what type of ink I use? can it be stamp pad ink refills? or like bingo ink ? or I guess that's not really an ink but some type of color refill (maybe its same ink idk) for bingo pens, but could that work possibly?
Using your mouth is not recommended, as you could ingest the ink, and that would be harmful. You can use the napkin to cover the ink cartridge and suck the bottom with the vacuum as many times as it takes for the ink to bleed out of the cartridge. When she did it, it only took her 3 times. The amount you have to use the vacuum depends on the resiliency of the cartridge and the strength of your vacuum.
