I can’t believe I never thought of regrowing beet tops for greens. Brilliant. Also, it’s encouraging to hear that I can eat garlic greens like chives. I wasn’t sure about that. And you child is SO ADORABLE. I’ve been in a louse mood today but her little smiling face and waving managed to make me smile. So thank both of you!

Very interesting as usual and thank you for precising that some of the vegetables regrow only to give you free seeds and not a new carrot, for example. Take care of you ♥️

Thanks for sharing! This is a great idea for getting through the winter when I want to grow but can't quite grow outside (I'm a little south of you in the Willamette valley, but same overall climate). Thanks for the ideas! I do cook with lots of onions and garlic. So I'd love to so this with my onion and garlic scraps to see if I can save them.

I plant the small garlic cloves and the leaves they produce are so tasty! Just added them to my mashed potatoes and soup! Thanks for watching and happy holidays!

Beautiful videos and you do a great job explaining each step. I am mainly interested in using the greens to add to salads and soups. Can all of these greens be used as is? I don't have a garden.

This has been really helpful. I hope you havent said it in your video already, maybe i missed it, but how often should I change the water in the jars that you put scraps in (like the beets and cellery scraps)? Should I change the water daily? Weekly? Thankyou :)
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 4 года назад
Hi I change the water every two to three days, just make sure to keep an eye if the water turns murky then bacteria may be present. Thanks for watching! Misilla

Thank you, I love that kind of video. I tried scallions, onions, garlic, celeri and it regrows. I tried carrots too but I want to know, if a new carrot will regrow or only the greens that will give seeds after...? Thanks for all the time you give to us.

Love it! Thanks for sharing. Do you deal with bugs much in the soil? I often have to throw plants away when i use soil indoors unfortunately
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 5 лет назад
I try to only water when the top of the soil feels dry to touch. Gnat live in moist environment. You can get the yellow bug tapes to put indoors, they work well. Thanks for stopping by!

Did this with lettuce. Grown for so long it's too bitter for eating, but, when it seeds, i will have lots of lettuce to plant for next season
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 3 года назад
Yes great for free seeds! They eventually turn bitter when they start to flower. I harvested seeds from scraps I regrew! Celery, carrots, bok choy snd onion seeds!

My veggies always end up getting rotten. Can you tell me why and what i did wrong. They were sprouting and looking very good at first, and then the next days they got softer and softer and there's slime and smell coming out of them. Should i change the water regularly?
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 4 года назад
Hi sorry to hear that. Yes it’s best to change the water every other day or daily to prevent bacteria growth. You can also plant the scraps directly in moist well draining soil. Thanks for watching! Misilla

How do you harvest the seed from bok choy?
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 4 года назад
Hi I put the stalks in a pillow case then shake it off in there or lightly hit the pillow case with a stick. Here’s a video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-twCsILplrCA.html Thanks for watching!

Omg!!!! I cannot plant anything😔 I only planted basil this year from the seeds. Only grew about 2 inches short for 3 months died after that 🤔.... and then i start all over but it keeps dying... My son said that I dont have a green thumb😁. and i see alot of those tiny gross bugs in the soil. Hate it.... The only plant I have that doesnt die on me are the xmas cactus that my mom gave me are in my home and some still on my porch ... I'm local also....
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 5 лет назад
Mhaya Lovely Hi Mhaya, Those bugs must be fungus gnats and they eat the roots of your plants - why probably they’re dying. You can get yellow sticky traps and they work well. Only water when the soil is dry to touch as fungus gnats thrive in moist soil. Keep trying and don’t give up. I’m just north of Seattle. Are you in Washington state too? Greetings and Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching! Misilla

Hi Mhaya, I’m sorry about your mom. I miss my dad so much, he also passed away from cancer almost four years ago. The pain never goes away, I always think of the good memories. Hang in there and I hope you keep gardening, it gets more fun and you’ll feel accomplished once you get it down. We’re neighbors! I’m in Bothell. May be we’ll see each other around. 😊Merry Christmas!
