It worked!!! I installed without the retainer clip because with it, the cylinder would not go in all the way.

Just replace my lock cylinder on 08 Ford Focus, and used this video as a guide. It really helped, so thanks a lot. :)

Due to a worn key, I had to file several wafers level. I tried to arrange the wafers so I always had to file the bottom rather than the top. Took me about 3 hours altogether to do the filing since I had to install and remove the wafers several times.

I have a 2009 Ford focus renewing the whole switch assembly. If I was to use the retainer clip for the key Tumblr it will not fit in it just locked me out it’s too long so take the retainer clip off the housing unit pops in clicks in and it works fine so you may find you do not need the retainer clip.

you can take the cylinder out again. cut the head off of a mechanic key (cut to proper code) then simply push it through.

awesome video!! dumbest flippin thing ever. great car... terrible terrible terrible everything else from the door handles to something as stupid as a flippin ignition. WAY to go Ford. you wonder why we all go Japanese... this is why. I should have to replace hoses, water pumps, belts not a !@#$%^ ignition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
