I replaced my crankshaft and camshaft sensors on my 2019 hyundai tucson without doing this. My car ran fine for a bit then one day it would not start. Could this be the reason it won't start??
Kinda a pain in the ass you need such a high end expensive scan tool just to change a little sensor which older pre 2002 when cars didn't need a relearn... At least these day you can buy el cheapo scan tools to do the relearn..
We have an odyssey that needs to be at 181ftlbs torque . The manual says to not use a torque wrench???? How would know its 181ftlbs if I dont use a torque wrench. I know it tightens itself some but how do I know I did it right???
I replaced both of 'em on my 2004 Colorado and it idles a little rough. I see SPARKADV(degrees) in my scanner LIVE DATA jumping at times back and forth between -5 and +17. When this happens the engine shudders. When this parameter stays close to zero on the positive side, the truck idles fine. I read that there is a way to do a ' relearn ' procedure without an expensive scanner, it involves the following steps: 1. Turn off all of the accessories. With the Air temperature sensor and Coolant temperature within 5 degrees (Centigrade) of each other, start the engine and let it idle in Park or Neutral for two minutes. 2. Accelerate the vehicle to 55 mph at part throttle. Cruise at 55 mph for 8- 10 minutes until the engine reaches operating temperature. 3. Cruise at 55 mph for another 5-6 minutes. 4. Decelerate to 45 mph without using the brakes, and maintain 45 mph for 1 minute. 5. Perform 4 deceleration cycles, without using the brakes, of 25 seconds each where no specific speed is necessary. Returning to 45 mph for 15 seconds in between deceleration cycles. 6. Accelerate to 55 mph and cruise for 2 minutes. 7. Stop the vehicle and idle for 2 minutes with the brake applied and the transmission in Drive (automatic trans.) or Neutral (manual trans.) with the clutch depressed. good luck with it. It sounds rather confusing and difficult to perform. Will try tonight when traffic slows down.
I bought the inova 5610 on sale for $217 and it has the re-learn function. It does so much for the price. I would love to have a professional model but it would be overkill for me who fixes my own vehicles.
hello, i changed the engine on chevy equinox 2011 and now i have 4 codes cam and crank sensors 2 for cams and 2 for crank car wont turn, cant delete the codes, the wiring for the sensors does have 5volts for all 3 conactors, is the ecu gone or something im missing?
Hey having problem with my dodge dart sxt 2.4 2015. It keeps misfire n coil pack becomes no good n melts spark plug replaced plugs n coil pack wht the hell is problem ?
The "vivent iLink 400" is $156 brand new on ebay and a guy made a youtube video of him doing the crank shaft relearn procedure on his 5.3L chevy pickup and it worked great. It says it also does camshaft relearn and throttle body relearn procedure.
How do i convert the crankshaft sensor on a k engine 6.0 chevy the year made 08 the crankshaft sensors on the front of the cover of the camshaft crank cover i'm putting a replacing my k engine right away i noticed they had no camshaft sensor placed to mount my wire harness to get camshaft timing and sensor to work because the new engine i'm putting in it 6.0 has a different setup and it's timing for the sensor speed is on the back of the engine under the intake to the rear of the motor how do i make the new engine function properly to the k sensor system speed sensor
I’m working on a Chevy Aveo After the head gasket was replaced… the car is not starting And the fault cog been given is Crankshaft position variation relearn How can I do that if the car is not starting
What if it's cold outside and the car won't start. So I'm replacing the crankshaft position sensor so it will start. Can I do this without this mechanism?
Hi i have got corsa d 1.2 petrol 2012 sometime while i drive for long time it goes in limp mode if i turn the engine off then start again all work fine again. I try to diagnose no dtc restore. Can you pls help what could be or any common problem with corsa

Hi, i have xtool D9 pro. Am i able to do crank relearn on 2004 lexus 330 with acan tool? Or can your scan tool do it? Can you give link if so? I did timjng belt but it's running slugish now, thinking it needs relearn. Thank you.
I have a question, hope you guys can help me. My VW TDI Vento got demaged crankshaft sensor (check engine light showed) , I repleaced it, but I still having same problem, same symptons... It is always neccesary to relearn crankshaft sensor?
I’m sure the information that you gave it is super good. But as a woman I need you to go slower when you talk, because I don’t understand a word that is coming out of your mouth! Thank you so much
How safe is it to do the relearn? My car (2018 Chevy Tahoe) got reduce engine power with throttle body code, I remember I saw a code related to camshaft, but I don’t know why I cannot find it. Now, I just have replaced trans fluid and the car doesn’t shift smoothly (50k km/31k miles) it should be healthy cause I am taking care of it and never gets over heated. I’ve done throttle relearn after cleaning, and trans relearn, but I start to get suspicious of the crankshaft code that I saw. So, crankshaft relearn safe?
Autel. It's not as user friendly, a little slower but it blows my snap on scanner out the water functionally. Snap on just has a bunch of subscription based info which is awesome as well but expensive af
Why are there so many people saying he's talking too fast? Is everyone here an American. I'm from aus and I find it very easy to understand. What I don't understand is how to do this if the engine doesn't start.
I'm American and I think he's talking too slow. But older people here grew up around less immigrants so they listen too slowly. My parents do the same thing. I date a lot of foreign women. My parents can barely understand them and I want them to hurry up lol.
2005 GMC Canyon 3.5L i5, just replaced the ECM/ECU/PCM (computer) and found out P0315 will appear after doing that. It wants the relearn CKS procedure done as a result. However, I do not have a device to plug into the truck to select the option to start the calibration. Is there another way to do this without the scanning tool?
Swapping? Or replace…??? Swapping refers to changing places, like swapping spark plugs.. you may be referring to replacing.. The answer will still be yes either way
