This is an old video and comment, but in case anybody is still here, you can install and test a sourced (used) pcm if you have a key for that (donor) car. I know this is hard with junkyard cars, but I know we did/do it at the dealership. You’ll need to have a non-imobalizer blank key cut for your ignition (pn is 35117-sm4-901 for 98 Accord and 98 Odyssey, idk about other cars) made for your ignition. Tape the donor car’s key to your “dummy” key so their blades are opposite of each other. The transponder from the donor car will fool the PCM and you’ll at least know your pcm is good if you can communicate with scanners or solve your no-start condition. This costs as much as a key (under $5 for key online, plus cutting fee) and the used PCM. I know getting the donor key is hard, but you won’t need a scan tool. This is easier for us at dealerships, but it’s also cheaper than additional diag fees and lets you get somewhere fast. I hope this helped someone -Jeff the tech who has broken some shit before but fixed it

@@pewpewtimefoo8128 turns out all it was was the alternator. Replaced that and no problems now really, except need to replace purge canister valve at some point and also the struts and alignment

Ok because I have 01 Honda accord coupe v6 and I just got the transmission rebuilt and the rpms are still dropping . Do you know how to fix it

Since we only inventory vehicles - not the specific parts - we don't know the condition, specifics or availability of parts on vehicles at any of the locations. You can search vehicle inventory on our website(www.pullapart.com/inventory/ and plug in your city) to determine if a 2005 Honda Accord is available. However, you'll have to go to your local Pull-A-Part location to see if it has the K20A computer you need available in the condition you need. Hope this helps you out!

You need to take the new ECM to honda and have it programmed for your cars ignition, if not you have to get the ECM from the junkyard as well as the ignition and the key.

Just-in Time so how this work? Just take the ECM to Honda with the key or take the car?
