Great video, Kenny. I've been taking care of my own pool for about 5 years now thanks in big part to your content! We have three big oak trees covering a good portion of our pool and they love to drop leaves and pollen strings into the pool - I like to say my second full time job during the Texas winters is taking leaves out of the pool 🤪 When we first bought the house, the skimmer basket was one of the heavy duty plastic ones you mentioned. It worked great under "normal" conditions, but the amount of leaves and pollen always going into the skimmer during those seasons if left alone for a few hours leads to it fully clogging up, getting stuck, and eventually snapping the plastic ones. I went through a couple of those baskets in that first year. So frustrating. I don't remember where I heard about it, but I read somewhere about someone instead using a metal 6qt basket that came with their Instant Pot. I bought a cheap one on Amazon to try and I've never gone back to the plastic ones! It works great and has lasted just about 4-5 years so far, holding up to chemicals, pressure, etc. I can be pretty rough with it when I empty it without worrying about breaking it. Have you heard of anyone else using alternatives like this?
