I've never had a problem adjusting either the suction or return side valves when the pump is running. Just make sure you don't shut either of them off completely.

It really depends on how your particular cell is plummed in. I've seen it at both ends of the cell but it should be close to the cell. Not sure if that's what you're asking. But I hope that helped.

@@PoolSchooler Thank you for responding, I guess what I'm asking to get an Idea of the water direction is, and this might show how lost I am, does the pool water go out of the pool through the filter and then salt cell and flow switch, which is what I'm thinking or does it go flow switch, salt cell, and filter which doesn't make any sense to me because the salt cell would be getting any trash before the filter does. But just want to make sure. Thank you.

@@jorbar7726 thank you for the clarification. So the salt cell and flow sensor should be after the water has gone through the filter. So the order should be through the pump into the filter out of the filter through the flow sensor and cell back to the pool.
