How to remove battery from VW Sharan / Seat Alhambra 2.0tdi (7N) 

I didn't have any idea about how to remove the battery in our Seat Alhambra. However, I wanted to do it on my own. The first time in my life 😉 This awesome video gave me all the details needed. Finally, it just took me one hour to finish. Thank you very much for that great video!

Thanks! I was getting ready to swap out my 7 year-old battery and had no clue where to start. Of course the manual only tells you to have a VW dealer replace the battery. One thing I noticed however is that your 2nd gen Sharan seems to have a battery hard case while mine only has a complete wraparound soft battery warmer.

Thank you very much, this video inspired me to do it myself without a programming tool. 2013 Sharan 2.0 TDI, no errors or issues with the computer. Battery management seems to work just fine. One thing though, my car has some kind of additional air hose from the back of the air box (compared to your 2011).

Dzięki za film, zmieniłem w maju 2022 roku seata alhambrę 1 na alhambrę 7n i dziwiło mnie umieszczenie akumulatora, oraz sposób jego wymiany. Jedno małe ale. Zapomniałeś do akumulatora przy biegunie + (dodatnim) podpiąć mały czerwony przewód.👍

Great Video - one other thing. When started the car afterwards lots of yellow warning lights (e.g. steering, auto stop, tyres etc). Short slow drive (about 100m) and all reset themselves (so nothing to worry about)

You don't have to unscrew the air filter so much. The battery can be easily removed by lifting it and it comes out !!!

One question, on my Alhambra 2013 SE Lux there's a pipe from the bottom of the filter that doesn't seem to go anywhere, it has a filter that has a dark blue colour to it on the end. Hi I was surprised to see that you have an AGM battery in your Sharan 7N. I have an original factory fitted EFB in my early 2015 2.0CR. I am looking to replace it with an AGM but wondered if the battery management needs to be coded for the change from EFB to AGM?

You forgot to mention that if a new battery is installed, it should be programmed with a OBD system.If it is same capacity changing only the serial number will be enough

Sorry but this is an AGM model so you should have Stop and Start. Do as this and you'll lose all codes (radio...) You must put a second batterie in parallele during disconect the old one AND do the adaptation in ECU with VCDS for exemple.

Outrageously bad design engineering by the Germans. A battery should take a few minutes and a few easily accessible bolts to remove in order to swap out a battery. This idiotic design requires someone to remove 2 intake manifolds, just to access the bolts that hold in the battery. Then shoehorn it in and out to remove and replace it. Great video to highlight what would normally be a simple 5 minute job on most other family cars... Cheers from Munich...
