How to remove Jaguar XF Door Trim Panel

Undo the trim as shown in your video and then removing the speakers gave me access to the wires for opening and closing the windows. The foam around these had all but disintegrated and almost disappeared. Pinned them together with cable tighteners, and there has not been any noise from the door since. Wouldn't have started on this without knowing how to remove the trim panels. Once again, thank you ever so much.

If your memory is not working for the seats, it could be something else and not the wires or the switch. The only way to eliminate the switch is to use a multi-meter and check continuity on all the prongs on the switch. If that checks out, then check the prongs for continuity on the cable plug that plugs into the switch. My guess is the problem lies there. Check your manual to check ALL electric seat fuses as there are quite a few. One of them might have blown which could affect the memory seat function.

@@carfanfan Thanks for the detailed reply👍👍 Problem solved when removed door card and multi plug was disconnected. Think its had a new front wing and whoever took door off failed to reconnect seat switch😣. All working fine now. Now just got to sort dab module out, it doesn't like English winters😅😅. Thanks again. You got to remove the center console. Unplug the buttons from the harness and replace them with the new buttons.

You have to replace the entire ac and radio controls. The radio unit from older models is not interchangeable with the facelift models as the systems were different. Harmon vs Bose vs Meridian.

Not without breaking the door card. The leather is glued to a plastic part which is plastic welded to the rest of the door card.

@cywolf. yep the door card must come off. I did a video a few years ago removing the trim on my X260 to wrap it. It should be the same.

Hey Debbs - I did answer the keyfob question previously, but basically, you need your spare if you do manage to lock your fob inside your car - that said, the XF won't readily allow you to do that. As for the gearshift regulator, do you mean the knob that raises up? Yes, that can be changed easily - if yours is faulty, you can easily replace it with one from a breaker's yard. There is a procedure to follow if your gear selector gets stuck which I'm going to feature in an upcoming video - I'm currently withholding my videos due to RU-vid demonitizing my account - I met their new criteria just two days too late and for over a month now, they have not "reviewed" my channel to monetize it again so I've lost a great deal of revenue in the past month thanks to RU-vid.

Kool, no I don't have a second back up keyfob. I have to get one. Just wanted to know if I locked/left the keyfob in the car will it lock the car, hence I would be locked out and have to call Jaguar/locksmith. I will wait for your new videos, and I will be praying that YT gets you monetize again.

Hey Debbs, oh dear, one fob could bring you trouble. It's always advisable to have a spare at home in case you lose the one you're using. That one fob you have has an actual key inside it - that key is used to open the XF if your battery goes flat. You can relax though, your XF won't allow you to lock your keyfob inside. I've done it many times before leaving my key in the console, getting out and pressing the door button to lock and it refuses to lock, sounds the horn and then I know I've left the key inside :) - but do try to get a spare, they will have to cut the hard key for you using the VIN of the car, but at least you know you have a spare fob and hard key. The hard key will also open the trunk when the battery goes dead so that you can jump start the car.

Nope, it was just the plug. The dealer replaced the window motor a few months prior and didn't plug it back properly ;)

Hey Afif. Each door has an electronic door lock which is actuated by a solenoid. The solenoid in the door lock on that particular door is probably shot. I'd recommend looking for a replacement from a breakers yard as it will be quite cheap and if you attempt it yourself it will probably take around two hours to replace.

@@carfanfan the lock can move but isnt completely moving so it is the solenoid?

@@afifelbaba5535 yeah, a faulty solenoid can do that. You could try spray some silicone into the lock mechanism and see if that helps but if the solenoid is tired, it will come back again
