🤔 appreciate the video👍. I have some rims that were painted with Rust-Oleum black acrylic enamel paint. Since you made this video have you come across anything that will safely remove that paint off the factory rim without damaging the underlying clear coat? I even called Rust-Oleum and they said they could not necessarily Point me into a product so I thought I'd see what you thought. I'm just trying not to damage the clear coat underneath. Any ideas? 🤔

The only way thing I can tell you is to get a small inconspicuous section and test it out. It there is paint on the back side of the whee like overspray you can tap up the front side snd spray some on snd test it out on the back side. The only way is to run a test I found the longer you keep the product on the more it will take off.

How many cans per rim?

I would start with just one can. That’s all I needed to do a set of four rims from what I remember. Man thing is to spray liberally and wait like 20-30mins to see how much paint has been removed. It should just slide off. Depends on how much paint.

Not sure You may want to do a test on the back side of the rims to make sure before using it on the side that you will see

I saw a video of a guy chroming his stock 99 Tahoe rims and he used this CitriStrip and Mothers Aluminum Polish and it took that clear coat right off. Rims were really shined up after that

Hello Carlos It’s best to not try to disable the srs system in any vehicle. I would leave that to professionals. Although from my understanding I believe that anytime any airbag sensor is disconnected or faulty the srs is disabled and the airbag light comes on. Why would you want to disable it?

Get yourself some 0000 steel wool and that spray you used or acetone . Paint will come right off

Be careful with steel wool on some wheels may scratch Test on backside first

That how the rims were when I purchased them. I do believe it was plastic dipped. I also used the same method on some painted rims

@@aricwithautoreplay ah I see and I painted my rims with regular paint and it came out so bad so I need to get it removed without taking my tire off. Would it damage the tire if I got some on it u think ?.

My first set I sprayed with the wheels on the suv. I sprayed and soaked the paint. The tires were fine. I also did this to chrome rims that were painted. Just test out a small area first if your wheels are not chrome. Should be fine.
