Yours came off great. It was a good thick application, so peeled off well. I had a lot of thin spots on my truck’s wheels. I watched a lot of vids and tried lots of products. Some of them broke the rubber down, making it possible to wipe the rubber off, like in this video. But it took a lot of towels and a lot of elbow grease. I wanted something that would make the rubber peel-able again. I tried Easy Off oven cleaner, and it WORKED! Spray it on liberally, let it sit for at least an hour, and start peeling. Really thin spots came off easily with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I don’t know why, but it takes very little effort to rub stubborn spots right off. Science bonus: by the third tire, I discovered that if I sprayed water on the tire after the Easy Off had set for an hour, the rubber became really pliable and peeled even better. I promised that I would post this if I found something that worked. So here it is! Easy Off and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

You are really smart, giving us reasons to work on cosmetic parts that's worth because the mechanical parts are still really good. There is no point working in cosmetic if the mechanical parts fall apart.

Any citrus cleaner works great too. Citrol 266. Spray off. Pressure wash off. Awesome video Jason. Killing the game.

Perfect ! Consumer use I recommend turtle wax bug and tar. Soak and pressure wash it when the dip was applied to thin and can’t be peeled. 👍🏼 great video

I have plasti dip on my chrome trim around the windows and side cameras . (Tesla model 3) Would it be safe to use the traffic paint remover on that ? Near the windows and car door / paint ?

The best product in my opinion is WD-40 . Add a good amount let it sit then pressure wash it or use a towel to scrub

Just a recommendation for a future video. Any chance you could do a Dr. Colorchip demonstration. I'd love to see how it fairs on the front of the Lexus. My 270,000 mile Infiniti M35x looked so much better after some Colorchip, Squeegee, and SealAct action!

Thanks for this suggestion. I have old plastic dip on my rims that has factory paint on it. When I remove the plasti dip will it destroy the original paint?

So is plastidip Solvent or Water based? What do they recommend clean up With that would tall tell sign noticed they have different solvents but don’t tell you what it is guess they want you to buy there special antidote sauce $$ Yea picked up an FJ grill and mirrors have thin worn sht all over it.🤪

Or you can just spray down some gas on it so you can reach every part and then go on with the pressure washer. To remove plastidip by hand, it must have been sprayed with a least 7 or 8 layers to be thick enough to be removed correctly.

Or you could use dip dissolver. It literally melts it, then rinse off. Comes off easily.

BEST solvent for Plasti-dip removal (If you can work fast) is GOOF-OFF NOT googone or oops. Get GOOF-OFF!! It loose the adhesive so it will peal easier. It evaporates quickly so you must work fast section at a time. You can find it paint isle Depot or Lowes. You will need a lot of it and a paint brush to apply. Apply it and wait 30secs or so and then hit it with a pressure washer after you have peeled some with fingernail.. If ya dont have a pressure washer........just start hand peeling. You will see that the chemical only loosens the bond and not the strength of the plasit dip so it stays together while peeling If you are simply trying to remove remnants of the dip, GOOF OFF is your goto. Piece of cake. Whoever invented plastidip should face permanent justice. AWFUL STUFF!!

This product along with "wraps" are the two biggest automotive fads that are an absolute pain in the ass to deal with. I wish they were never invented, half the time when you get a product that was wrapped or dipped, that shit is not coming off. The glue they put on wraps bakes into the paint, takes off the clearcoat with it. no matter how the fanboys lie and say its safe to use, its not safe. Same with dips. That shit is a pain in the ass to remove.

Just use dip disolver. If it was dipped right, this would have been super easy though. Plastidip is pretty awesome. The way this guy shows is NOT how you remove plastidip.
