I did this repair. I found the easiest way to remove the trim panel to access the light was to use a flathead screwdriver. Pushed it in through the seam at one end to pop open the clip that holds it in place. once you've done that you can work along the panel to free it from the remaining clips. It was quick and easy and didn't break. Be careful when removing the 8mm nuts -- suggest using a pair of needlenose pliers so they don't drop and get lost as you remove them.
Thank you SO MUCH! I just did this myself and everything was as exactly as you described! I surely would have broken something had I not seen this video. Incidentally, the replacement light I got (from Amazon) wouldn't install completely flush against the body with catches engaging; I wound up replacing its super-thick gasket with some AC trim tape, but there is still a tiny gap. Anyway at least I won't get a ticket now!

Zawsze daję łapkę w górę, ale jakoś tak zaczynam myśleć , że tu nie idzie o stałego widza, tylko liczbę wyświetleń. Wersja w języku angielskim... Montaż klapy do ubikacji... Jak dla mnie - inaczej się ten kanał zapowiadał. Życzę powodzenia i nie zamierzam hejtować, ale to już nie mój klimat.
