I need to fix several items in my center console, so the whole thing had to come out. Here is how I did it. Check out my newest shirt here: www.amazon.com/dp/B07FT8PNX9 FaceBook: / speedtechnikphoto Instagram: / speedtechnikphoto
Thank you CarGuy, another excellent video. I'm going to have to take mine out (99 AW M Roady) to fix the window switch area. You might want to add some strength to the plastic wings that hold the window switches for your printing project- or did you end up buying an OEM panel? The window switches push through when the plastic gets brittle. A friend of mine says that plastic exists in two states in nature - broken and about to break. Would really like a video on the reconditioning project. Best wishes for your 2000 Imola M Roadster, looking good so far!
I need to fix the temp adjustment knob and lights for the HVAC too, heater is full on all the way to the right and off otherwise. Probably replace the tape deck too. ;)
Thanks Sam! I ended up biting the bullet and buying an OEM panel. It's actually very difficult to find one in Imola Red - all the vendors that had it listed did not actually have it in stock and no ETA was ever provided. I gave up looking for someone that could actually print it for me. One person that agreed to make it for me gave up half way.
I don't think I breathed a bit while you were squeezing the console past the parking brake lever, glad nothing cracked! Would be interested in what your reconditioning process is, also how you address the broken panel. I'm going to need to do the same thing.Appreciate the videos!
The smarter way to do it would have been to loosen the parking brake handle. That's what I'm going to do when it's time to reassemble everything. As far as reconditioning is concerned - I'm having the broken panel 3d printed in abs plastic. I will then prep the plastic bits and spray them in imola red to make it look fresh and OEM.
Actually - yes! If you pull up the shifter boot (no need to remove it) and the foam padding, you should be able to reach the buttons from underneath through the opening.
title says "how to remove enter console" it's funny how someone wants to make an instructional video yet not once mentions where any fasteners are, how to get to them, what size they are? I mean it's a high speed video where the dude literally figured it out as he went. how in any way is that instructional. you should rename it "watch me TRY to figure out how to take out my center console, Pathetic😂
If you move your arm out of the way then we can see what you're doing instead of just seeing your arm. The same applies to your back & the back of your head.
Instead of just showing the back of your head as you worked on it in fast forward, it would have been nice to hear about where the important screws/clips are, and how to get the switches/gauges out.
@@CarGuy1 How did the Fan, Temperature and Vent controls come out!? The vid went from them being in place and then (the next day I guess or you just changed shirts - LOL) and the next frame they were gone! Do they come apart inside or WHAT?
