Here are some of the tools that jimthecarguy uses www.amazon.com/shop/jimthecarguy In this video I will show you how to remove the upper intake manifold gasket on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 2 7 liter engine
Hey Jim, I was ready to shell out hundreds to have my plugs changed. Hopefully, after seeing your great video, I will attempt it myself. Thanks for sharing and I will be coming back for reference.
Hey Jim, I want to change out my timing chain in my 06 Cadillac STS, do you think it's possible to do with me not being a mechanic and all, but I don't want to spend lots of dollars. So what's your input?
Hi Jim, do you know the name of the black circular part that is attached to the upper left portion of the intake manifold? Is it possible to get that piece by itself without having to replace the entire intake manifold? Thank you so much!
Hi Jim, thank you, thank you, thank you. I was able to change my plugs and wires and man, did it make a difference. Even got a new throttle body on it. Wish you were in Charlotte, you'd definitely be my go to guy for repairs. Thank you again for the video and dead on advice.
That piece hes lifting and working on is actually the plenum. Anyone know how to replace the gasket on the upper and lower intake manifold? I bought a three piece set of gaskets for this delta engine and only found a way to this plenum, which hes showing in the video. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Hey jim i changed plugs using your video. Thank you for this video. Recently changed battery and starter on my 07 santa fe. Drove around for a day or 2 and now car wont start. No click or anything. Power comes on but wont try to start or anything. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks in advance
Yes the first thing you should do is go down on the top starter and check for power at the main wire and then check for power on the start wire when someone holds the key to the start position. Keep me posted.
I can tell you exactly what it is! It's a known issue on this car. Your Neutral Safety switch went. Assuming you haven't done anything about it in 2 months, what you need to do to diagnose is remove the tiny cover near your shift and press the button to unlock shifting gears, and out your car in neutral and then start it. I am assuming it will work. If it does then that is proof. The part is $40 at the dealer and they have an updated design for it. In the meantime you can continue using the car via just shifting to neutral to start it be be. Hope this helps anyone that comes by this and has the same problem. It's a very common problem.
I recently replaced sparkplugs on my tiburon gt and never replaced the gasket.Recently discovered a hissing noise from throttle body and wondered why the maf sensor acting up.
I have a 2007 limited santa fe 3.3 liter. Is that what this is, I didnt see the oil filter on the right like mine. I think mine is a little different then this one. The plastic cover on mine is silver. I have a slight problem right now 196,000 and its hard to start the car takes a few seconds sounds like it is starving for gas or air or something Not electrical power related it feels like a fuel problem. After it starts runs great. Any ideas what it could be? I was thinking MAP sensor, or fuel injectors or spark plugs. Spark plugs were changes at 100k so they are old but I cant afford to have them done right now.
Hey Jim, I was ready to start removing the intake when I noticed the throttle control was literally broken off of the throttle body, aluminum where bracket attaches completely broken off from body. Arrrrg. Going to change plugs and wires while putting on new throttle body.. Wish me luck.
Hi, I was glad you made this video, but the most important what I would like to see is how you removed the bolts at the back, also a video shot from the top would give us a nice view what to expect…. also you do not show that you torqued up the intake manifold bolts at the back… But thanks for making it. 😮
Hi Jim, Good video. However the 12mm bolt under left upper corner of intake manifold is a Allen head bolt...not a 12mm Hexhead. No room to get my L-Shaped Allen wrench under it to loosen from manifold sir. I'm stuck now...Arghhh.
Appreciate your work and putting this out for everyone to see and use. However...unless I missed it, I noticed that while you do recommend a certain philosophy about the manner in which you torque down the plenum fasteners, you did NOT make note of the VERY specific ORDER which Hyundai recommends one torques those fasteners. Just a thought.
