I’m glad I found this, thanks for posting. I’ve got hella horns too and wanted them white so one weekend coming up I will be doing this too and then painting them. I feel more confident now watching this, thank you!
I removed the bumper and then replaced and the passenger side headlight seems to now have a massive gap between that and the bumper, i've removed and refitted several times and it just doesn't seem to align properly, any suggestions?
I had front bumoer repainted because i was hit at parking lot above front left tyre and fender deformed a bit and bumoer was scratched. Now gaps between bumoer and fender are uneven, almost completely tight at base and gaping hole towards the headlight. Hope guys who did the bodywork and paintjob didnt damage anything and just retihtening all the bolts will do the trick.
Mine does that on one side, one of the main support plastic clips that's molded into the bumper cover itself, looks like a U is broken off on mine. It's been like that since I got the car, so it sags on the one side. Look under your headlights that's where it clips on to the frame
I saw those big ones under the headlight, they are ok. Screws holding everything together under the hood seem a bit more cliser towards the engine on one sides than on the other. I will try with that first and than checking the rest. Thanks for info
I cant remember exactly whats different, its not much i know that because ive taken the front clip off a 14 before. Pretty sure its really close to this procedure.
I have Focus Mk3 from 2014 but before lifting, do you think that I can without problems swap the hood, light and the front bumper from the lift version?
It is possible, full bolt on, planning to do this on my ST soon, link to source: officialthreetwenty.com/2017/02/20/how-to-mk3-5-focus-st-front-end-conversion/
UPDATE: Not worth the time and hassle, decided to sell the ST and use the money for that towards a different car. I was looking at around 1500 (including carbon fiber hood because to paint an un primed one would make it more than the carbon fiber one)
Just bought my kiddo a 2015 Ford Focus SE hatchback, the newer version this year with multiple bumper parts. That car is extremely low to the ground unfortunately she doesn't slow down as much as I would have liked over bumps etc. She even scratched the lower front end pieces of the front bumper pulling up to the curb. :) These pieces seem to be removable etc. Has anyone removed any of these smaller front pieces to allow for more ground clearance? I understand that it probably assists with fuel economy etc. but jeez is this vehicle low to the ground.
Pete Onsholm I’m not entirely sure what you mean by lower pieces, the removal of the front bumper is the same on the se and st, as far as I know the st is the lowest it comes. If you’re talking about the underbelly pan toward the front bumper it is part of the structural integrity. Removing will weaken the front end and most likely crack the front bumper cover.
BrendoST wish I could take a picture. Essentially, the 2 pieces underneath the fog lights are separate pieces and held together differently to the pan underneath. My kiddo scraped it hard. I think we are talking about the same thing but I wouldn’t refer to this thing as a “bumper” compared to my Wrangler. 😜
Pete Onsholm are we talking about the air separators right before the front wheel wells? They look like mudflaps but in the front of the wheel. Or is there an additional lower lip that isn’t shown on my front bumper in this video?
johnpaul sajo it’s just zip tied to the front grill. I shaved the back of the grill with a flap wheel on an angle grinder. It takes a while but it’s nice when it’s finished
BrendoST I don't have an ST I just have a normal 2016 SE and I'm scared to "pop it out" and snap off any clips holding it in so I assumed I had to go around from the back
how do you get to the tabs holding the bumper cover to the car which is directly under the headlights??? In my opinion removing the headlights are the easiest way, and side note they are 2 screws, hardly worth your stupid ass comment.
