From so many videos seen, this is the only turner who at least uses hand protection when he uses the lathe, and it is clear that he is detailed in the work he does, which gives quality and good service, Greetings from Venezuela
Mevcut dişli sert çelikten aşinmasi zor fakat yapilan kaynak yumuşak metal oldugu için uzun ömürlü olmaz diye düşünüyorum, belki tek diş kirik olduundan uzun süre araci hareket ettirebilir ama riskli
Because that is the proper way to do it. These gears are hardened. So the welding ruined the hardness to the surrounding teeth, and his welding method is poor. You need a continuous bead to set the weld. Him pecking at it never got the metal hot enough to penetrate.
Good done for toys. For heavy work machine it is not useable. Bought a used machine and found such a work in it. Repaired part lost half of material because of not hard enough.
I've fixed lots of gears and that's it. It has to be hard to survive. It is a good idea to run the gears in by turning by hand with grinding paste to get the fit right. Obviously clean it properly before installing it.
Need to do this on my transmission. I just put it back together and pretended i didnt see that. I bet the tooth you welded on is stronger than the rest of the teeth. How much money did you just save?
I don’t usually comment but I couldn’t stand seeing all this misinformation. More than one tooth make contact. So long as it’s there as a “placeholder” I think it’ll work for long time. It’s definitely a harder tooth than most would think. If you’re thinking about it, try it!
I don't know how long it'll last but I guess gotta do what you have to do. The welding isn't as good as the lathe work but nice job. Doesn't happen in the US.
1. Все шестерни имеют поверхностную закалку токами высокой частоты. Отремонтированный зуб будет без неё. 2. Пятно контакта на этом зубе будет располагаться в неправильном месте и в итогу зуб будет усиленно изнашиваться.
I'll go further & say it's dangerous to wear any loose clothing while using any machine that can catch it. I once seen a guy use his foot on a lathe handle to get it unstuck. His shoelace got caught & his foot slowly got pulled clockwise under & up the backside of the adjustment handle dial. It tightened his shoelace so he couldn't pull his foot out. Fortunately there was a guy walking past when this happened & he shut it down before it did serious damage. His foot was broken in 4 places as well as 3 toes. If the guy didn't stop the machine it would have rolled his foot then his ankle & on up his shin. Who knows how much of his leg could have gotten rolled up? Lucky Bastard.
this works maybe as a one time fix but the way you sanded down all the teeth just to make them even will wear it with repeated repair. also the welds were pulsed instead of strung which makes me question the integrity
And someone wants to continue to use it? After all, this tooth has a different strength from the rest of the teeth, a different grade of steel, a different hardness ... Probably only Kamikaze will use this gear ...
Bonsoir mais ils n'attendent que vous pour leur trouver une meilleure solution ne vous gênez surtout pas pour aller leur montrer de quoi vous êtes capable dans leur condition de vie !
