The bottom clip holes on my nissan versa bumber are broken. I'm definitely going to this method. Everything else wanted me to buy a plastic welder that costs as much as a new bumper would be. Thanks for the video
Plastic welders can never fix it this way this was a really good idea I use fiberglass instead of plastic welder on most of my bumper repairs plastic welding is always weaker.
Thank you! For the most part, yes it is still good. I really don’t know if it will hold if I have to remove bumper again. If I do remove bumper then I want to try doing plastic welding. I’m curious to see how that does.
Hey man I finally decided I want to try doing this. Are the results worth it? I’m other words is it worth wasting the money to get the materials to repair it?
Well of course the results will vary based on what’s broke and how well the fiber glass is applied. My results were decent, but not necessarily my desired outcome. Fiber glass (for me) was the most inexpensive method to fix it. However, I think I would try the plastic welding method if I were to do it again. It’s a little more costly since you probably would have to purchase the plastic welder and supplies. But $20 or less to fix bumper isn’t bad for any improvements in my opinion. Time spent would probably be more of the deciding factor as to if it is worth it or not. Good luck bro! 👍🏽
@@DriveTalkCars You’re right! Plastic welding is much easier and more durable. I just saw clips of how to do that and much cheaper! I’m going to try it and see how it goes
@@DriveTalkCars I just did it this morning, put aluminum tape underneath and the plastic weld it thick enough.. Tomorrow morning I will be shaping it to the same size and then sanding it down. It’s extremely durable
