While I was busy restoring this chainsaw, I discovered some damage to the oil pump. So after ordering a new one through Amazon, I decided to make a separate video on how to remove the oil pump and replace it with my new one

Video was excellent........... right up to the point where you left the Cover Plate off. No way in the world I would want excessive Oil and wood chips/fines piling up around the Pump/Worm/Bearing/Crank seal..... *Still, the replacement information was helpful - Thanks.

Oh my G--!!! Just re-watched the video and you're right. I can't remember if I put it on afterwards because its not lying around on my table. Haven't used the chainsaw at all because I now have 3. Very observant of you!!

Anlatiminiz çok bilgilendirici ve faydali. Benim bir sorum var.testerem aynı yağ pompasına sahip.zinciri söküyorum çalıştırıyorum yağ pompası çalışıyor fakat zinciri takınca yağlama yapmıyor.yağ alltan akıyor sebebi ne olabilir ?
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 10 месяцев назад
Zincirin çubuğu, yağın içinden akması için küçük deliklere sahiptir. Muhtemelen engellendiğini düşünüyorum. Engellemeyi kaldırmak için ince bir tel kullanın. umarım yardımcı olur

Great video. Exactly the one I needed. However, I am having a problem that you might can help. At about the 1:25 mark you back out the white worm gear. When I spin mine counter, it doesn't loosen at all. Just keeps spinning. I am wondering if you can help me figure out what is happening. I don't want to pry on it. I feel like I am missing something. Thanks.
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 4 месяца назад
Thank you! All that is happening is your white worm gear is turning the gear on the oil pump. My oil pump gear was seized so it looks like I was unscrewing it. Put a small screw driver into the side and pry it upwards and at the same time turn it counter clockwise. If I remember correctly you might be able to remove the whole oil pump with that white gear in place.
@joshhanna4922
@joshhanna4922 4 месяца назад
Thank you I will try that. My model is slightly different than yours, and it won't allow the oiler plate to come off to access the pump until that white gear comes off. @@davekennedy52

@@joshhanna4922 Could also be that the white gear is just worn and not making contact with the oil pump gear. It might just lift out. Good luck!

Hello, I have problems with the lubrication system of a chainsaw, the same model as in the video. I replaced the entire lubrication system... the pump ,oil lines everything... and it still doesn't .work.Can you help me?
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 9 дней назад
I'll try! Take the bar and chain off and start your chainsaw, just to make sure you have oil flow. If you do then the passage in your bar is probably blocked. Find the passage and clear it with some thin wire. Hope that works, let me know

@@davekennedy52 The bar and chain it's new ..it has no oil flow without them even after I changed the pump and oil lines and worm it works a little then it stop...I can't figure out what the problem is..i put new chain and bar to test it works a little and now no oiler🙄

@@NXT50 One line from the pump goes to the oil reservoir. There will be a filter on the end of the line, it might be blocked, so check it out
@NXT50
@NXT50 8 дней назад
@@davekennedy52 Yes, it has a rubber plug at 90 degrees that goes into the oil tank that I couldn't find to buy, I had to buy a complete tank that came without that filter but I installed the old one. That plug has a filter that seems fine. Someone also told me that it could be the vent valve..it's a hose with some kind of screw at the top

@@NXT50 Sounds like you;ve had a major rebuild. If it is the oil breather tube, here is a video on how to find and clean it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6D9em1NU0a4.html. If its not that then I can only suggest that you remove your oil pump again and make sure the worm drive is engaging properly.

Thank you very much. This was the video that I was looking for. I learnt a lot from this video . One more thing I want to know after the pump end of the oil hose, is it normal hose end or is there anything like nipple. Thank you once again.

Hello, I just did this following your video, but now for some reason my pull string is very hard to pull and skips. When I take out spark plug it pulls and turns over fine. Any hints or ideas? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for watching Playa, there are a couple of things you can try. First check your flywheel key to see that it is not worn or damaged. Have you tried with your chain removed? Is the chain not too tight? If you have a 4 stroke motor, it will be the valve gap. I presume you have the correct spark plug, if its too long it might be hitting the piston. Also check the gap on your coil. After a lot of pulling you can flood the engine and cause it to hydrolock (too much fuel on top of the piston that doesn't burn off). Hope that helps and good luck!
@HDGarcia92
@HDGarcia92 Год назад
@@davekennedy52 thank you for the response, I am not sure if it's a 4 stroke motor, it is the same chainsaw you show in your video, but with a Ryobi sticker. I did not have the chain on as I was trying to start it to see if the oiler was now working. The spark plug is the original that was in there. I may have to look at the fly wheel key. It didn't do this before I replaced the oiler, so I am wondering if I broke something, either by removing the clutch or reinstalling it, where I may have damaged something.
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 Год назад
@@HDGarcia92 A 4 stroke is not very common, so I'm guessing that you have the 2 stroke like mine. The only other thing I can think of is that there might be excessive carbon build up on top of the piston. This would decrease the space in the cylinder causing a higher compression. Take of your exhaust and turn the machine by hand (turn the flywheel) until you can see the top of the piston.. Then shine a torch inside to look at the piston top.
@HDGarcia92
@HDGarcia92 Год назад
@@davekennedy52 thank you, I think that may make sense, as I had it on it's side while I was working on it, and some of the gas mixture may have made it's way to the top, I will check it out when I get a chance. Another think I noticed is that it moves if I go very slow but not to pull it quick enough to start. The very first pull was fine but after that its a very rough bull and if I go fast it'd skips
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 Год назад
@@HDGarcia92 I think you may have discovered the problem. You can use a LINT FREE cloth and push it with a small screw driver above the piston to soak up any oil. Good luck with your repair
