Thank You Errol! This video has become timeless! Just like the others who took the time to leave a comment, this video was exactly what was needed. I bought a new faucet for the laundry tub months ago and it just sat there until I watched your video yesterday (7/17/2023). Today, the leaky old faucet has been retired and the new brass is fulfilling its purpose. Great video and BIG Thanks.
Exactly what I needed for my 38 year old tub faucet replacement. I loved the details video and the emphasis on the good old fashioned community plumbing stores instead big conglomerate stores . Thanks for taking the time to do it. I also loved your son's involvement in the project. That is how I learned from my dad and how I thought my son. Thanks
EXACTLY the instructional narrated video that was needed, and you made the same mistakes I would have had you not warned me by doing them. Thank you for this: you saved me a lot of money, time, and trouble. Including your son was also important, as it reminded me to include mine - perhaps the most important lesson for me
Greetings Old Errol! I have never done any plumbing in my life but I watched your excellent video and was able to replace our laundry room faucet with no problems on the very first attempt. Thank you so much for showing me how to do it! BLESS UP TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
thank you, good watch, lovely well mannered young son you have, you are teaching him so much, used to love learning stuff with my dad, keep up the good work
I love this video. I have the same exact laundry sink faucet and didn't know how to remove the old one and replace it with a new one. This video gave me all the insight I needed. Love the fact that he was training his son at an early age. That's what's up. Thanks, Errol.
@@olderrol1968 Bro, you did more than help. You both educated and saved me from a daunting task. On the real, I could not have done it without your video. I was able to replace the old faucet with a new one in an hour's time thanks to your video. Much appreciated.
Your video was just what I was looking for! Step by step instructions were clear and laundry sink even looks just like mine, water hose and all! Already told hubby he'll have a new task. Great work with your son, too. "Train up a child..."
this was the only video I found for this type of faucet thank I was able to swap out my old leaking one worked great and easy whew Nice and easy thanks again
2 things that really stand out and I really liked is that you spent your money local. The big box stores make enough money but the Mom and Pop stores are like you said more likely to help you not just take your $ and #2 you got your Son involved in the project. Very cool !
LOL Even though I noticed when you first did it and forgot to put the nuts on first...I'm totally still going to forget to put those nuts on first. Good video! shows how normal people fix things.
I think you applied the sealing tape backwards, but all in all this is a great video. Nice to know I'm not the only Joe trying to put his own stuff together.
Good Man! What a morning, getting to watch this great vid. Thanks for this, im a new diy plumber and have this setup in my basement. Always gave me anxiety because it was strange how it connected to the copper pipe, what with the mip adapter and big brass nut. You relieved alot of anxiety bro, thanks. Goodvibes bro
Ahhh exact model I have. I was hoping not to need to replace the fixture. Thought I’d have to unscrew from below. Didn’t even think of one being behind!! THANKS! Hopefully changing the stems and handles sets me straight. Otherwise I’ll be shopping as well
A trick I learned for a long term maintenance. Spray some WD40 right by the neck of the pipe to keep the chlorine from calcify and and causing a pipe to leak in the future.
I have a utility sink that that, and I want to get a brass faucet to replace the cheap one that was on there. I'm curious what you have the faucet sitting on? I don't have that and I don't think I can get it to fit on my sink without it. Thanks.
I would suggest you go to one of those Old fashioned hardware stores. (People that know what they're doing). And show them a picture of your sink and let them know what kind of Faucet you want install.
I subscribed. I am in the process of replacing my faucet and this video made me more comfortable doing it. Thank you. I replaced normal ones like bathroom and kitchen ones but I never seen this thing ever before. I looked at it and I was confused about why the water pipes are on top. I am going to replace my shutoff valves as well because they fell apart and it was a mess. Water is off for the house and I am going to start in the morning. I have soldier pipes and a shutoff valve when I replaced my spikey or wallcock on the back of the house and I busted out laughing when the hardware store guy said that I am replacing a wallcock. I guess that's the proper term for it. These shutoff valves are going to be easier to replace and the faucet looks easier to replace than a normal one. I will remember to put my nuts on 1st, I have a funny feeling that I will be thinking about you when I put my nuts on. 😂
@@olderrol1968 Thanks. I didn't have any issues with the installation and now I have a new faucet and shutoff valves. The video really made it easy because I knew exactly what to do. :)
@@olderrol1968 Thank you very much. I've learned a lot from my husband, but seeing you do it helped me more. He's been gone 9 years and I didn't have the courage to do it myself. Now I do! I'll be 75 later this year and as long as God is willing, I will keep on doing repairs. BTW, I love your helper. :) Oh, I bought my faucet at Farm and Fleet. I live in the middle of corn fields...very rural.
great video but i have a question. i bought the new faucet just like in this video. the old faucet attached to the main pipes without an adapter. the adapter with the faucet doesn't screw into the main pipe supply. should i buy a different size adapter or am i missing something? also add that the old nuts do not come off the main pipes and the adapter doesn't screw into the pipe
Make a detail video of the issues that You're having. And the bring it to the old fashioned hardware store. I'm quite sure they will have more knowledge than I will.
I want to thank you for such a great video! I convinced the husband we needed to do this and told him I watched your video (he absolutely hates doing plumbing) and I KNEW we could do it. End of story--we did it and it's working fabulously. Thank you again, Errol!
Hi - thanks for the video, I have the same faucet with the same leaking... it was easy to get off but I'm still working on it... I'm going to try to fix first... then if not then I'll replace so thank you for the walk through. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mEPLsWwbS5U.html
I had the Faucet replaced by one like that, exactly, then the screws on the handle started falling out, that I needed a screwdriver to tighten both screws, and 4 months later the faucet is dripping water, so now what??, a new faucet?
