Hi friends! My 2007 Odyssey has a P0970 code. I am sure there is no fault in the gearbox and the wiring is not short-circuited. What is the problem? Can you help me?
I have an 04 and am pretty sure the seal around the shift-shaft and in the hole into the transmission is leaking like crazy, to get in there, have to remove the range switch thus and then get that old o-ring/bushing seal out, and press in a new one with a socket and hammer. major pain. ..but since that'll stop the leak, don't have to just junk it because it's a total beater in any case.
Please include year of the vehicle in your video title. Your safety switch location seems very different than the one shown in this video of a 2006 Odyssey..
Thank you for that comment! That is the problem I had. If I read this correctly, you took off the switch when the car was in park, but when you needed to line up the new switch, you needed to put it into neutral?
Man I changed mine the other day and now it is having an issue with switching the gears it doesn't light up the particular gear on the dash unless you sort of shake the gear changer handle into that gear. It got touchy. Also it stalled once on my wife when she was shifting from Reverse to Drive apparently. I've got to get under and make sure the arrow is lined up when in Neutral. If it acts up again I may have to take it out and redo it. Fun fun. 😆
@@springorchardfarm1214 I sure will. Thanks so much. It maybe something very easy. I will drive it up on my set of ramps soon so I can look underneath it while my wife places the gear back from park neutral and drive. Then I can look at the position of the arrow in relationship to the gear it should be in etc. When I originally took out the old switch the bolt with the arrow got turned out of position when I was wrenching on it to get the large 7/8" nut off. When I put the new sensor on I had to turn it so the arrow was in Neutral.
You forgot the most important part...what WAS wrong with it? Had a no crank no start. I have replaced, fuel pump and filter, plugs, crank position sensor, distributor. started , ran. Now no crank no started.
Hey did you figure out was was wrong with your vans? I have a 2007 odyssey that sat for 3 months, I jumped it, drove half a mile and parked it. Now no crank, no solenoid clicking, just nothing. Before it sat 3 months I was having occasional times where it wouldn't start in park, but it would start in neutral.
