Your car reaching into your pockets as the mileage creeps up like mine? In this step-by-step tutorial, we'll show you how to replace all four motor mounts on a 3.5L 2007 Chevrolet Impala to help you save on that expensive mechanic bill. Motor mounts play a crucial role in keeping the engine secure and stable, but over time they can wear out and cause a variety of issues. Luckily, the parts themselves are really cheap, and can be replaced with common hand tools. This video will guide you through the process of safely and efficiently replacing all four motor mounts on your Impala.
We'll cover everything you need to know, from identifying the location of each mount to removing the old mounts and installing the new ones. We'll also provide tips and tricks to make the job easier, such as using a jack stand to support the engine, methods to tighten and remove pesky bolts, and using a torque wrench to ensure the mounts are tightened properly.
By the end of this video, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to tackle this project on your own, saving you time and money on expensive mechanic fees. Don't let worn-out motor mounts cause problems for your 2007 Chevrolet Impala - follow along with our tutorial and get your car running smoothly again!

Just a tip on this, because I'm about to do it myself. My mounts (all of them) are shot. I also need to change the spark plugs as well. So, if have bad mounts already just leave them in place when you do the plugs. Especially if you plan on ratchet strapping the engine forward for easier access to the rear 3 plugs. If you do the mounts first, you risk ripping them if you go that route. If you have small enough hands, obviously you don't need to ratchet strap the engine forward at all, but just throwing that out there. Great info in this vid!

Hey frank. Thanks for your video! I was wondering how much time it took you to do all this? Or how long you'd assess it would take someone.

wiggling that right side lower mount was the longest. that alone took me about 30 minutes. but for the most part, all of it was pretty quick, taking me about 2 hours from the moment I rolled my car up to my driveway to the moment I put away the last of my tools!

Any advice on if you can’t get the bolt holes lined up on the passenger side engine mount? I only had one side on a jack stand. I’m wondering if maybe that made it to where I couldn’t get the bolts holes lined up

if you do'nt have a spare stand, maybe a cinderblock to help hold things up. Or you could use a crowbar to left the one side up and fit the bolt in with your other hand, provided you have enough space!

Hey bro, looks like you need to change your oil filter adaptor gasket which is where all of the oil is coming from. Two of my four Impalas have the same oil leak. See the bead of oil on the bottom of the oil filter? Theres at least one video on YT on changing it, and the tricky part is you have to loosen two A/C compressor bolts half way to get to one bolt on the adaptor.

thanks! I was wondering where it was coming from but was leaking so slow I decided not to prioritize it.

@@frankfixates6777 No problem. There are 4 bolts, you might want to try to just tighten them because its a pretty sturdy half metal gasket in there and the vibrations over time might have loosened them. The two bolts that you have to get from under the grill after popping the plastic plugs holding the protective plastic piece up seemed loose on my car.

Do this ASAP. I had mine start pushing oil out pretty bad one day after work. You can actually get to the two A/C compressor bolts reaching down between the strut tower and serpentine belt. Just back them out a little. When you are under the car, you can also just reach around the subframe and loosen them more if needed. I didn't even take the wheel or liner off. There is also a single bolt (You can't miss it) on the back side of the compressor you need to loosen as well. It's not a bad job, but getting to the top bolt on the adapter housing (laying under the car, feet facing the front of the car) can be a real PITA.

did you have to jack up the motor to take the weight off when you replaced the top mounts? I didnt see that you did but wanted to make sure. thank you

nope! if you absolutely need to, you can use a crow-bar or some leverage to get the holes to line up. With the car parked on level surface, I found that removing and reinstalling the top motor mounts was no problem at all.

I got them from RockAuto. ANCHOR brand. They were in great shape after shipping and they seem to be holding up pretty well!

Props to you for doing this while filming! That lower passenger side mount is a b****. Mine was collapsed since it is hydraulic and the space was much smaller, got it done but it was a lot of work

The lower passenger side was DEFINITELY the most annoying part of this job. if I would have skipped it, it would have saved me half the time it took to do this.
