In this episode I show you how to replace the rockers on a Cherokee XJ with OE style replacement panels. The paint was custom mixed by Upplands Bilfärg AB (www.ubf.se)
Good job! If you want to do rock sliders later, you can always place them under your new rockers. I had to do this job on my Bumble Jeep. I cut mine differently and used panel adhesive with self tapping screws. At the time I did mine, I didn't have access to a good MIG welder. They are holding up well. I scuffed the new rockers with red scotch brite, wiped with thinner then painted them with POR 15 inside and out. Every spring I pressure wash and re-coat the underside to keep it fresh. This year, I got cavity spray and did the inside of the frame rails and inside of the rockers. With a 27 year old Jeep, rust is an ongoing battle. Hope yours hold up as well as mine are. God bless and stay well.
Good video, but I may have drilled out those spot welds on the a and b pillars and also along the bottom edge. Thanks for taking the time to make and share this video!
Great video, we'll done! I have to replace inner and outer rocker panels on mine. I used a spot weld cutter to take out the welds on the pillars and removed all of the old rocker underneath.
Great video. Where did you buy the rockers? I would like to follow what you did with the same rockers but with so many sellers I don't know what I would be buying.
