This video shows you how to install a new crankshaft position sensor on your 2011-2019 Ford Explorer. The crankshaft position sensor is an important component of any electronically controlled ignition system. The sensor provides the computer with data about the position of the crank shaft to properly adjust ignition timing. If the sensor in your vehicle is broken or malfunctioning, you may suffer poor performance, or get a check engine light.
This repair was done on a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited 3.5L Sport Utility 4-Door AWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
