Hey guys, as promised a new video!! Lol! In this video I explain how to replace your rear hatch actuator in your RSX base or Type S or Honda Integra Type R so basically DC5 in general. Very useful video with good detail at important steps like pushing the panel toward the front of the car after releasing the lower back clips.

I'm having trouble removing the smaller trim pieces on the driver and passenger side. How on earth did you get these off? The clips just won't let go Never mind I got it but there were some black clips I was unaware of that broke on the driver side. Also nothing pops out easily

Where did you get the part from? I’m having the same issues. Locking and not opening. So I just need the Actuator or the actuator and the lock hatch together?

Kid Ard hey! Unfortunately RSX tend to have power lock problems after a while. I got the rear hatch actuator (which is all you need, just the Actuator) from amazon. LeonelObbed you don’t know how much I appreciate you for helping me! I don’t mind if it’s an off brand. I just want it to work for a while. It’s so annoying trying get it open and bang on the emblem and sometimes opening and sometimes not! Thank you so much👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Very good demostration. I called Honda to give me an estimate. They want $65 just to tell me the latch is not working which I already know and I am estimating upcharge part and fine installation.

hey man. question, because I can't tell if it's the actuator or not (also, my driver side actuator hasn't worked in over a year.)... so, for the hatch, when I unlock the door, I hear the hatch want to unlock, but it doesn't. I can hear the mechanism try to unlock, but a second or two later, it locks and won't open. So, is that likely a faulty actuator, or something maybe caught in the mechanism?... once in a blue moon, I can get it to unlock

Thats a broke actuator, same as this video only on the door. My car also has this problem. I bought the actuator a while back but still haven't swapped it out lol

I’m having issues with my RSX and my trunk is stuck now and I have tried everything to get the damn thing open to take the panels off to get to the lock actuator.

Have you tried switching your actuator manually? You can move the white latch to the other side and try to open from the outside. Sometime mine gets stuck as well. Usually a couple of taps on the Acura emblem in the hatch do the trick

@@jessicamathews5758 Maybe the latch mechanism broke from inside or something. You get feedback from the handle when you try opening it?

Yes I do for some reason it won’t come open. I’m not sure if there is something down in is causing to stuck. I know that the hatchback had a broken glass.
