Rear door won’t open from inside and outside? I used polyester cord strapping to open the door and replaced door latch on KIA Sorento. #kiasorento #doorstuck #doorlatchreplacement #kia
Thx for the video! Great guide, both my rear doors failed within a week. Cut a strip from a plastic lid since I didn't have any strapping and that worked to get the child Lock off. Saved me over $1000 at the dealership, parts off Amazon were a great price!🥳
OMG!!!!....thank you a million times over! I've been combing youtube for a week looking for a video showing this! Tons of them out there but not with the detail you provide. I've had my Kia door partially apart for a week trying to figure out how to do this. Thanks Man!
Thank you for your video. I have never fixed anything in my cars before. I was able to follow your amazing instructions and it worked. It took me over 3 hours because I don't know my tools, but althought I was going slow, I was able to complete step, after step, after step.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I watch it a couple times… I bought those rubber door stops, the pick, torx set, and… a new door latch assembly ($50). I got it done on my own thanks to your help - otherwise I would not have normally taken a car project like this on my own. Many thanks!! 😊
BTW, If you enjoy camping would you please check out my other channel, here’s the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hflm1O_1eKs.html Thank you.
Thanks for the guide, I just finished replacing my passenger side rear door latch. Your guide is very comprehensive and complete. My window did bind going up after reassembly. (I was operating the power window from the driver's door and found for the window to operate, the window switch on the door must be plugged in.) I ended up loosening the three window guide rail fasteners, making sure the guide rail was shifted away from the window and re-tightening. That cleared the problem.
Thanks for the idea I used a very flexible putty knife that cost about a dollar. Pull the seal back from the inside and in 30 seconds to tries pop the Child lock open.
Just got this exact car with the exact same problem and I turned on the child lock on accident and this saved me after trying for over 2 hours! Thank you!
Great video!!! Funny thing is I have a door latch as well but mine also needs a window grip due to the last person who worked on it put the wrong bolt and crossthreaded the threads. P.s I don't know how long it took you to open it but it takes me about 15-30 to remove the door panel and westher strip to access the child safety lock. Cheers and keep pumping these cool videos! I wonna see a Sc199 tranny replacement lol!!
Crossthreaded always fun work on lol. I actually open the door on my first attempt but my camera is not recording lol, I have to redo it and took me three attempts and probably 15 minutes before I open it again. I almost film Sc199 couple months ago but my schedule got busy and did not finish filming. Thanks for watching and have a good week ahead.
Sir, your video was fantastic. the only thing I would suggest is next time. This happens for anyone else. Remove the inner door trim in the rubber gasket. Around the door. Once you do that, the child safety lock is easily accessible. Period
We're just pulled the door panel out and then reach around and get the clips loose and go up top get the cable loose and pull that cable from the mechanism and tug on it too just got to figure out which one is the upper and lower
Hi Ryan on my 2011 sorento the heat is not working, ac and fan work, but not switching to heat do you have anything that addresses that? thanks,, and thanks for posting!!!
Hello, first thing you can check is your coolant level, is it full? if not add coolant and bleed the system, 2nd is if your coolant is full let the engine run until normal temps then check your heater core hose if both of them are hot or same temps heater core is good but if one hose is cooler than the other then your heater core is clogged, 3rd is check your temperature door actuator, the actuator could be stuck on cold position or you have open circuit from your HVAC module or the module itself is faulty. I know there is too many to check but good luck to you and thanks for watching.
Thank you, Ryan so much for all that information , so cool. You Rock! I completely understand it. As it turns out, it was a clogged heater core Was able to flush it out and now I have heat in the car Although here in Florida, I do not need it anytime soon 🔥🤣 However, I’m not sure how to correctly bleed the cooling system ,to make sure I have no air thanks again
@@1610nsb I’m glad it helped If you have time watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T7KzeJeplzc.html start watching at 22:25 I know I used the BG machine to speed up my process but it’s going to be the same steps without it. Remove radiator cap Used spill free funnel and add coolant Start the engine Turned the HVAC blower motor off Turn the temperature to max heat Wait until the ECT notified the PCM that engine reach normal temperature Which means the thermostat is wide open and coolant is recirculating, the PCM also turn the radiator blower on to cool down coolant And that’s the best time to escape the air from cooling system.
I'm wondering how much is this fix cost approximately. I know location plays a role in the local markets, but if you have a ball park cost or average of what you would charge is great.
This is a really helpful video. Unfortunately two things went wrong after I finished. The window doesn’t wind down properly anymore and the actuator seems to work in reverse. Any tips? The screw that goes into the middle of the door (the one you needed an impact drill to remove) didn’t seem to bite when I put it back in
Make sure the screw is lined up correctly, if that screw did not bite in your window is probably crooked, also check you actuator cable they might install backwards. Thanks for watching.
@@WrenchingRyan thank you for that help. I will check the screw is lined up. I don’t understand how the cable can be backwards. Could you please explain
@@WrenchingRyan the window now works. Thank you! I took the opposite door panel off to see what the other actuator was doing. When the black cable on one door pushes out, the other one pulls in, and visa versa
My man thanks for the vid. I have a question my lock is jammed on the pin you can hear it lock and unlock. I had somebody work done the guy tried, i was in a hurry bcz i was moving. Now couple years later need door to open. Any thoughts at all would be of great help. Again thanks for the video.
So my drivers door has started making a bit of a buzzing sound when I unlock it, could it be the lock on the way out? I'd rather fix it before the drivers door doesn't unlock 😂
