Thanks for posting! Belt broke yesterday, just knowing they're torx screws BEFORE pulling the washer out is a huge help, because I'm going to have to run to the store to get drivers! :)
My mom's washing machine started smelling funny ("like a hot glue gun") today so when a quick google search said it was a problem with the belt this video reassured me it wouldn't be too hard to check, gonna try it later when my mom gets home!
Seems easy in concept, I think I am going to need a new belt on mine soon based on the sounds I am hearing from it as it rotates slowly. (At least I hope it's a belt) But I am going to continue to use it till it breaks, then trouble shoot if it was indeed a belt..... Or something condemning....
My problem is the belt 'pulls' forward - towards the front of the machine. I pop the belt on and after three hand-rotations only about two-thirds of the belt is on the large pulley. It stays there, as in it doesn't come off completely on its own if I continue to spin it, but I'm not confident it'll last. I'm thinking that it's the angle of the two pulleys relative to each other, but don't see how to correct it. Any ideas?
